Found this:
1991 Toyota 4runner 4x4

I went and looked at it and its in great shape. Interior looks good, no rips or tears, frame and everything underneath looks good with NO rust to speak of. Body had no dents or dings, the only rust is in the rear wheel arches under the chrome trim. Power steering issues is because of a hole in the metal tube, not sure if is the high or low pressure side, but you can see the hole. Exhaust leak is from a whole in the pipe attached to the driverside exhaust manifold. The only issue not stated is that it doesn't run due to a bad ignition switch which he is in the process of replacing so that I can test drive the vehicle. He said that he won't sell the vehicle unless its running. I currently have a 92 that runs great but i has a ton of cancer and i recently found a spot that rusted through part of the crossmember portion of the frame just in front of the rear axle.My T4R only has 136k on the clock and has a bunch of new parts. I was thinking about buying this thing and swapping my motor over.
I would love to get some opinions from you guys that have been in this game much longer than I have and have far greater knowledge than me.

Think for $800 you can't go wrong, if you pass it up hell I might go scoop it up. I believe I know the guy that has this, I think I sold him a boat a few years ago and he had this truck. Is he a big tall guy, maybe Hispanic or something? Getting this and keeping your truck for parts I think is a great idea.

Looks nice. If it were burgundy you'd have a great vehicle there :)

Is it a 3.0? Either way 260k is quite a few miles, but it looks nice and you know the issues and it sounds like the seller is going out of his way to fix issues and let you know about any known issues. That's a great thing.....and at that price....

Get it, before someone else does. Assuming it drives ok on a 30 minute test drive, once fully warmed up and all (or 10+ minutes after it warms up, if trying not to drive too much on the power steering)

(the power steering line is pretty easy to replace, and though it's nice to have metal in that area you could even put in a flexible line)

No, hes a short skinny guy with tats. I haven't heard back from him, and I've tried calling him a few times. Don't know if he traded his mind or what. Kind of stink s because I really need the truck. I just found some detrimental rust on my frame. I don't think its going to pass inspection.

Sometimes you just need to jump on a deal when you see it. That's what I did (though if your married ask your spouse! I didn't & fought hell for it!)

That sucks. They are becoming so picky with inspections now but I guess for good reason, if you were hit you wouldn't want your truck to fold in half and hurt ya. Keep bugging him maybe he'll crack.

I usually just roll up to the house with new toys on the trailer expecting to catch hell, but do some dishes, throw in a load of towels and usually that calms her down, til the next deal comes along.

wish it were that easy with mine! But no dice. She is still pissed that I didnt ask her first & that Im still spending $$$$ to get it running.....

Just out of curiosity I emailed him through Craig's and he said it's still available but needs a switch. Just roll up on him with some $$ and he'll sell it.
