Need some advice...

I've always trusted the opinions on this site so I thought that I'd pose this here. I bought my SR5 brand new in '05 and have loved it since it replaced my '02 Tundra and it has been very faithful to me; it now has 67K miles. I just found out that my wife is pregnant again and this will give me three kids in car seats. I fear that combined with my 100lb golden retriever space is just getting too scarce and it may be time to get something bigger. I go on many weekend trips and sometimes (but not a lot) tow a 4000lb Ski Nautique boat and was wondering about your guys views on replacement vehicles. The last american car I owned was a '99 Suburban, so I'm thinking that, a Sequoia, an Armada, Expedition EL, or possible a Crewmax Tundra with a topper. Any impressions are appreciated or if you've owed one of these or know someone who has. Also, if you guys have any other suggestions, those are welcome as well. Price is an issue. Thanks.

Why replace it? Just buy another new or used Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna.

Sounds like with 67,000 on it, he may still have a payment... I know for me at least, it was always easier with one car payment than two...

Congrats on the 3rd kid, just bummer that it might cost you ur Runner...

If I was in that situation, I would shoot myself before buying a minivan...

I would have to go the Tundra route I think... man, tough decision, Im not a big fan of HUGE Vehicles, but there are some REALLY NICE Tundras with the Fabtech lift that have that lowering step up and everything... just cant stand those XD rims they put on em.

Funny, as my wife has a Sienna... but I can't tow the boat with that, and she puts a ton of miles on her car, so we don't take it on trips very often. My 4Runner is paid off and I've thought about getting a third car just to have around, but it would have to be older and I don't want to get stuck with a money pit. Also, I'm not sure if insurance would be cost prohibitive. I'm on more of a budget now.

Sell her Sienna, have her walk to and from. j/k.... Then have her have the 4Runner and buy a nice used vehicle of your choice.

whatever you do, don't let your wife check out the new sequoias because she'll want one. i made that mistake and now i don't hear the end of it...lol...thankfully they're out of our price range right now, so the runner stays.

that said though, with 3 kids in car seats and especially later on once they get older, the sequoia with it's 7-8 passenger seating would be ideal, and it's hwy mileage isn't much worse than a v8 runner when it's all loaded up. and the 5.7 will tow that boat of yours like it's made of air.

Just tell her, it has this cool "self driving" feature that cannot be overridden and it's only available on eight select Toyota models, the Sequoia being one of them. :hiding:
