Need some help deciding...

Hey everyone,
This is actually my first post here. First I wanted to thank everyone for all of the great information that can be found on here, it makes it so much easier for a newb like me to educate myself on this vehicle and all of its capabilities. A few months ago I got a 2016 trail runner with kdss. I recently added 275/70/17 ko2 and they are awesome in all areas.
I can truly say that I am very pleased with this runner and plan on keeping it for many years to come, this is actually rare for me since I typically change vehicles every 8 months or so. Here is my question to all of you, I really want the trd pro runner but I'm not sure if the change is justified, what all am I getting in the trd pro that I don't have on the trail. Also what can I do to add those changes through aftermarket add ons. I currently have running boards and roof rack which I believe come standard on the trd pro. Does it make sense to spend the money on the pro or just make the changes on the trail. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I have thought about getting a lift possibly an inch or two but nothing crazy.
I also really like the look of the trd pro on the outside and that is one of the biggest influences pushing me to consider it, I don't care much about the interior so that has no weight on the decision.

Since you already have the trail just keep it and upgrade the suspension to your liking. If it's the look your after (wheels, grill, etc.) it would still make more sense to replace those parts on your trail than it would to buy a new Pro.

Nothing on a Pro that you can't add to your truck and since you have KDSS you have things you can't get on the Pro. Most will say you can get even better shocks aftermarket, but either way you can add the valences and letters, even the gear shifter if you wanted.

I would change the grille out and call it good. However, I had originally bought an SR5 in 2011 and upgraded to the Trail in 2012. Therefore do what will make you happy. Additionally, if you plan to mess with the suspension then I wouldn't get the Pro since you will be removing those suspension components anyway.

Then search suspensions. Read the build threads, see how folks are using their trucks and go from there.

Bilstein 6112, just search around "5th gen Bilstein 6112" and you can read all you want, a few reviews here:

Otherwise a ton of other options, most more expensive but others cheaper, but if you want what you'd get in the Pro the 6112 is it.

if you get a Pro You have to get a Procomp 6" drop bracket lift, Affliction Tshirt, white oakleys and a tribal arm band.... if yo uare gonna do it, do it right!

So after a lot of research and advice I have decided to keep the trail and add some goodies. I also just got the green light from the boss at home to drop 1500 on a lift kit. What is the best option for that amount and I'm looking to do a 2 or 3 inch lift. Also what is the best place to find a good deal. Thanks

It all depends on your wants, needs, and goals.

For $1500, my vote would be a toytec ultimate or Bilstein 6112/5160 combo with +1.5 rear coils. Should help you keep or improve the ride quality, and won't break the bank. + you'd have money left over for other goodies.
