Need tire guidance!

I'm about to install my TRD Billy/ OME 890 lift which will give me about 2.5" roughly. I have the 2015 Trail Rims (17").

I mostly use my 4runner on pavement. I want to go 32" but I don't want an E-rated tire. It appears there are no options right now.

I've done so much analysis that I'm completely fried. Can someone point me in the right direction? The goal is to stay under 55lbs too.

Eventually I'm going to go with the 265/70-17 BFG All-Terrains. They're under 32", but only by a half-inch. And you can get them in a C Load in either 48lbs or 46lbs.

currently have 265/70R17s now.... hate thinking of keeping the same tire size with a lift

I have a 3" lift and never felt the tires were small. Unless I'm sitting next to someone with 33's. I always say that tread pattern as well as the backspacing of the wheels goes a long way. If you can push the tires out wider, it gives a lot better look.

That would be a great option for a rig driven on pavement and forest roads, especially P-metric.

I had Continental AT and KO2s on two separate sets of wheels on my previous ride and the Conti were on a different level on pavement. The KO2 were on a different level offroad, but they were LT-D with a 3-ply sidewall. LT-C KO2 is not my cup of tea though I do understand it offers a lot of value.

Or just get P-metric Wildpeaks. They are better than the KO2 everywhere except if you really need the extra strength of the 3-ply sidewall. I can climb rock ledges at 33 psi without spinning a wheel (using the locker and MTS).

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm scratching off KO2. I've had them before and I absolutely hated them. They are not good in the rain at all.

Read some amazing reviews on the Falken Wildpeak AT3s. They make a 275/70R17 C Rated tire.. but it weighs 57 lbs.

How about the OG BFG mud terrain KO. They only make them in one size and it happens to be the size you are looking for. I'm running them and I have no complaints for wet weather driving. I ran a set for over 50k on my Tacoma years ago rotating at every oil change(rears to the front and crossing the front to the rear changing the direction) every 3k miles. 255/75r17.

This. I had a set of P265/75R16 AT3Ws that I loved, but ended up selling them and putting KO2s back on because I couldn't sell my KO2s.

Can't wait to wear these things out and go back to Wildpeaks. KO2s are garbage.

Totally agree. Almost makes me wonder if some of the good reviews are fake because I would argue they are really bad at every gradeable criteria. I think I’m just going to rock the Wildpeak AT3s 275/70R17 C-Rated even at 57lbs. It’s about a 16 lbs jump in weight and I don’t even want to know what the loss of MPG will be.

I'm down about 4mpg in town and 3 on the highway going from 265 AT3Ws to 285 KO2s. Granted they're not exactly the same size, but that's a big hit for half an inch of tire height.

Then scratch off the Goodyear Duratracs. They're even worse on wet roads.

I'm on my second set of Duratracs on my Tacoma and I have never had an issue in the rain. It rains a ton in my neck of the woods, so I have had plenty of road time on these in the wet stuff. I think they perform very well all around in rain, snow and dry conditions. They also weigh less than many other AT's which helps with gas. They're even fairly quiet until you put 40 thousand miles on them in my experience.

Good luck OP with your decision.

I can definitely only speak from my experiences with this one set as they're the only ones I've owned. I live on a fairly steep driveway and in the previous three sets of BFG AT's, I never had an issue with slipping when it was wet. Whereas in my current set of Duratracs, I have to be super careful to not spin my tires on it. Now, some of it can be attributed to the added power of the SC, but I was having an issue with it before then. So much so that I'm going to go up to a 17" wheel just to get out of them.

I will say they have more than impressed me in every other surface. Mud/sand especially.
