Need wheel & hub info - TRD Pro’s & Limited

Having problems balancing my factory 18” wheels and want to buy TRD Pro’s, which I believe are hubcentric, to resolve the issue.

Please help me confirm:

1. Factory 18” Limited & UrbanRunner wheels are NOT hubcentric, correct?

2. TRD Pro’s are in fact hubcentric, correct?

The balancing issues you're having aren't from them being lug centric or hub centric. Think about it....these are factory rims we are talking about. Take your wheels to a different shop. If the wheels that came factory on your vehicle won't balance then there is something else going on.

I attempted 5 different places and 3 sets of tires on these wheels. Each changes the behavior but the issue generally persists. Changed everything at this point but the wheels.

I also cannot find anyone with the fingerplate (haweka) adapters to balance these correctly. NYC is good for a lot of things, but really rough for a car enthusiast. Bad roads, no parking, traffic, abundance of parts changers but very few skilled mechanics. And those that are good, make their money on quick repairs so no one invests in tools. Do know that i have a hard time finding someone who has a welder? :smh:

Every factory wheel is hub centric.

Not sure what shops are near you but you might have to venture out of NYC to get what you want. Try someone with a road force machine that works for mine.

What tires are you running, all terrains are tough to balance.

If you did all that work you might have a bad wheel bearing or ball joint. Those will cause the symptoms you are experiencing.

I am almost certain that these 18’s are not hub-centric (found on limited’s and urban-runners). The wheels drop some when i loosen the lugs.

I also looked over the bj’s, end-links, wheel bearings, etc. In fact, all these shops that tried balancing them did too and everything seems nice and tight.

Like i said, every manufacturer OEM made wheels are hub centric.

I have 2 limited with the 18's and they are hub centric. They dont drop they spin in the lug holes as the lug nuts go through the wheel so there is some play. If you push on the wheel while mounting it you can get the wheel to sit on the hub assy.

OP - I'm having similar issues and am in the process of ruling out a stuck caliper, bad wheel bearing, or good old fashioned unbalanced wheel and tire.

I've been combing through the larger steering wheel shake thread and saw a few mentions of different wheels clearing up the issue.

I've also noticed my wheels not seeming to mount back up totally flush. And since I've been eyeing a set of new wheels as an option, so consider me sub'd.
