NEW 04' 4runner owner, old FJC owner...

Hello to everyone in the 4th gen world! I recently totaled my FJC Anyway, that led me to purchase the slightly larger and greater HP yielding 4runner! My only mods to date are the 17inch pro comp wheels with 255/75/17 BFG MT's, and I just purchased Toytec's "Ultimate" lift combo to assist with the deletion of my XREAS suspension Im currently rolling on. Well, I guess HELLO T4R guys! :biggrin2:

Nobody was hurt even though I didnt have my seatbelt on I dont recommend that maneuver by the way, lesson learned! Yes the 255/75/17's do rub in the front a little on full turns when the ground is not perfectly level (basically alot of places). That's the reason I bought a new lift so quickly. Yes I did buy the "Ultimate" lift with the adjustable coilover's in the front. I talked with TOytec for a while and decided on the adjustables because I will be adding more weight to the front soon and dont wanna change springs again! I will post pics later tonight, and hello again to everybody! :cheers: PS- yes it is a V8!! To be exact, I bought a 2004 Limited in Silver, the V8 AWD version.

If the forward side of the fender liner were trimmed or pulled forward do you think it would clear? Or is it rubbing on the backside of the wheelwell? This site shows the type of trimming and pulling I'm talking about. Scroll down a bit...

Thanks, just trying to figure out if 255/75's are a viable option at stock height.

I am so happy with the way your truck looks with the ultimate lift pritchnakoff!!! Mines silver too!! Did you have to remove the xreas system on yours?

CJ3FLYR, as for the rubbing, I believe some front fender trimming may solve the problem for regular driving, as for wheeling, Im pretty sure the lift would be necessary. I personally would not trim my fenders unless I was running some super monster tires on a big lift! Hell, you can get the daystar 2.5 lift from 4wheelparts for 148.99 right now!

Yeah, the XREAS has to go if you go with any new C/O system, there are a few spacer type lifts that work with it, but really if you are going to go with a 3" and you do any sort of off-roading, than I think it's better to go with C/O vs Spacer type lifts - just my opinion as I am sure the cornfed and daystar lift are good quality.

I had mine installed; I wish I had the time to do it myself, but my wife works weekends and I have two small kids so I just needed it done and done right the first time, set me back $500 but I know it's done properly.

Not trying to hijack the thread but

I am running the same tire and all I did was the toytec top plate spacer that goes on top of the strut it raised the front a little over an inch they fit perfectly in there now

I do believe that is a simple solution as well, but have you taken it off road? It doesnt seem to me that it would create enough room on a full "flex" off road. I could be wrong though.

I had those tires before I put the spacer on and they rubbed pretty bad. But after the spacer I haven't noticed any rubbing on or off road I may be wrong as far as off road but if it has it was very Minimal. I noticed yours may be rubbing worse due to the offset of your aftermarket rims?
