New '14 Owner

:hello:



My wife and I have been considering a 4Runner for about two years, in the meantime we have passed it up and have bought and sold a few. Until now, the Limited fit the budget and the refresh is pretty decent-once you get past the strange looking front end. We have had a '13 Acura MDX Advance that we got certified, have had it about 10 months and really have not liked the thing. And we really need to be able to tow a trailer as well. Our other vehicle in the stable is a '14 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. Really like it as well so I'm interested in what it'll be like to own direct competitors. If anyone would be interested in a mashup of the two after a while of having the 4R, I wouldn't mind doing a little writeup.

Yeah, I kind of figured it was Farmington, but I couldn't be sure we had no Farmtown. Ha!

Those were old 70's sitcom shows and they both referenced a "fictional" farm town called "Pixley". Only there is actually a real farming town called Pixley just two hours north of where the shows were filmed. Probably not a coincidence.

It was just timely that we just passed through Farmersville, I wouldn't doubt that there is probably a Farmtown somewhere :)
 
Ah I see. Yeah I'll change that, at first I thought it was funny but now I think it might just be misleading and confusing.

Won't be picking up the 4Runner until about noon tomorrow but when I do, I'll snap several pics :) not that you guys don't know what a silver 4R LE doesn't look like lol
 
My TE is silver, and even though I promised pics when I first joined the forum I never got around to posting them. I'm just lazy, I guess.

But, back on topic: Farmingtown, huh? And, Warthog, you're showing your age - "Green acres is the place to be...!"
 
Yeah, Farmington is a pretty sweet place. It has its cons but it's home, ya know. I did for a short period of time live in Phoenix but my girlfriend got pregnant (wooops) so we moved back home for more support and a better opportunity.
 
Just picked up the 4Runnrr, didn't get to snap pics yet cause it was raining pretty good but will soon. It has an annoying vibration and pulls to the right pretty bad :( Just my luck.
 
Check the tire pressure first thing. Seems like a lot of dealerships don't bother checking the tires and you may drive off with one of them at 25 pounds and another at 45!

Course that also may go for alighment but that they should fix for free!

Checking the pressure was exactly what I thought to do. And indeed, they were all over the place but it didn't really help.

No, new. Had 10 miles on it when I picked it up.
 
So I just made it back home. The right pull is gone and the vibration is minor (which I still will take to toyota to have rebalanced) and it's only at 70mph. I think adjusting the psi and then driving a bit helped because it's nearly fixed as weird as that seems because I mean it was pretty bad at first.
