New '15 Trail .. Finally

After waiting since mid February, my new Trail hit the dealer's lot yesterday afternoon. I stopped in to touch base, and found it had arrived 1 1/2 hours earlier.
I'm sure it's nothing special to everyone here .. Everyone has seen countless new 4Runners, but it's pretty special to me, especially because it allows me to get out of my ZR-2 Blazer that is rusting out right from under me. The brake lines in particular.
This is my first Toyota and my first vehicle in white. I'm expecting higher quality from Toyota, and I believe they can deliver.

So, here it is, on the lot ...

Congrats! But before you take ownership, check the roof for any delivery damage. The rear roof rack covers are missing and that's not something that just pops off without effort.

I think they leave those off until they determine if the customer wants cross bars or not. I haven't decided yet ..
 
I'm on week 4 waiting for my new trail. I've been lurking on this forum hard.

Thanks to everyone for the good thoughts..

I pick it up tomorrow morning. Hope I can learn all the new electronics. You know about "teaching an old dog new tricks ..." I kind of miss the days when vehicles were much less complex.

Anyway, can't wait to get in her and getting my Bilstein 6112 and 5160's on.

The vehicles aren't delivered with those installed, they should be sitting in the cargo area. Like the OP said, probably in case someone adds crossbars. I noticed in on a pro I test drove, it just came off the truck and everything was still covered in plastic, the keys were still sealed in a bag, and those covered were laying in the cargo area.

Love the white.

If you got the Entune be prepared to spend several hours with the manual on how to use it. Also, plan on doing the voice recognition/speech pattern learning soon. Tiri (what I call Toyota's version of Siri) is not as smart as her older sister but she tries hard.

Also there are presets on the Sat/Nav that you can set they say "Always do or don't do this" like avoid certain types of roads, etc... Sometimes I test the Sat/Nav on a route I know how to get to the best way and she comes up with something really off the wall and I ask her "*****, what you talking about" but all she says is "I am sorry, I did not understand that command".

At least Tiri's older sister has a sense of humor and will say something like "Now is that anyway to talk to a lady?". LOL

Enjoy your new 4Runner. If you are coming from Chevy Blazer the 4Runner is in a whole different class quality-wise.

Yeah, I'm really lookin' forward to learning Entune.... I think it's gonna make my head feel like it's in a vice!

On another note, I'm pretty impressed with Toyota's efficiency. I was told that the vehicles that make the trip by boat from Japan, have fuses that have to be dealer installed during the prep .. particularly lighting. Just in case the Teamster loading the boat knocks a switch accidentally, the vehicle will not arrive with a dead battery! Also, the roof rails lacking the rearward cover installed, just in case. I guess a minute saved here and there is a dollar earned!

So far, I'm in love!!
