New: 2000 Toyota 4Runner Limited 2wd

Hey guys I just joined this forum a few days ago and have loved all of the feedback and information that I have found. I bought my 4runner a few months ago but havent really updated it at all but now i really want to. Here are a few things that I want to ask about before I purchase these upgrades:

1) since i have a 2wd car i was wondering what type of lift would be possible for my car and the type i should get. i don't really know anything about lifting so i don't know what 2wd vs 4wd lifting is.

2) i want to get a led light bar on the front of my car and was wondering what the best type of light bar would work for this car, as in color and size (my car is silver)

3) last i was wondering what type of front bumper i should purchase for a decently cheap price but is also good off-road and especially looks very cool

What a beauty! Welcome to the board.
I am no expert but alot of drivers only recommend lifting a 4wd 4runner not a 2wd. Why? E-Locker and other cool things. This board is the most informative 4runner board in the world. There is so much info until it will make your head spin.
Please search and re-search to find the info you need.

Beautiful truck! Well this site is called T4R not T4R 4x4. Your 2wd is very capable of handling light to some medium off road. Yes, 4wd will get you further but will also get you stuck further out.lol

As for a lift...depends on what you want to do with her. You won't have to worry about cv angles because there aren't any up front. I went with a 2" front lift with a 3.5" rear. Love it!! That rake gives some room when you load her up with people, gear or both.

You could put in a locking rear axle which would add a lot of off-road capability with 2WD.

hey what exactly is a locking rear axle and what does it do? Does it make 2wd close to 4wd off-road?
