Needed to get the SUV writeoff so we traded in our 04 of same model. Did I mention that I think the 6005 GVW weight rocks for our taxes?!
As expected everything is similar on the 06, but improved over the 04.
Some comparisons...
I am not sure if I like the 18 inch wheels because you do not feel as protected with the 17 inch tires when going through big potholes. The 18 inch wheels do seem to make the ride a little firmer and steering is crisper.
We are in break in period so I don't know if the engine has much over the 04.
The WMA/MP3 CD support is cool. I already have one CD with 60+ songs on it.
Overall, I think the styling changes are good. The hood is more sloped and so it is harder to tell where the font end is exactly. We went from white (no wash needed) to nautical blue metalilc (wash often!) and I think the new running board and roof rack color of black works well for our new color.
I like the new fake black stone interior over the old fake stone. The driver and passenger convienence lights are brighter - that is a big plus. Memory seats are neat, but I think they might be a sign we are getting too lazy. I mean, really, are we too lazy to adjust the seat?!!
On the 04 we had Michelins and on the 06 we have bridgestones - I prefer Michelins.
I would like it if there was a little more headroom as I am 6' tall. In the mornings, I have to lean back a little, but then this is my wife's car!
Overall - I rate the 4Runner
