Oh well. So you think the red is ACC, the black is Mic- and the grey is Mic+ ??which one then would be shield? Do I need to add shield and Mic- on the same line? I am a bit confused about that cause pin 20 shows Mic- & shield...
UPDATE - Got the voice output to work!!!! Those pins above are correct, just verified them and voice output works! Couldn't really gauge the quality, but I have it wired and shielded correctly so I don't anticipate any problems... Alright!!!

Alright - some updates, questions, thoughts, etc...
The reverse sensor is not red/black in this car it is a white/gray which is in the same place as all the posts. I real easy way to find it is with a voltmeter and put the car in reverse.
Getting the pins on the nav unit was a pain in the ass with no harness. What I did was use wiring and pushed it right over the pins. If it were pulled on it would probably come out, so I had to be really delicate when installing it.
The unit sounds great and looks great. If anyone needs any help or advise during install please feel free to let me know. Now, some questions if anyone has any ideas...
1 - On the Bluetooth setting in the diagnostics section, whats the 'Voice Quality Type' ?
2 - The voice output on the voice nav guidance is really low - any ideas or thoughts on this?
3 - Any word on getting the display button on the steering wheel switch to work?
I will post pics of the install when its put all back together.

When you wire up the pins on the amp and the HU. How are you determining which side of the connector the 11 and 23 are on? I assumed that it was looking at the plug and not the end with wires coming out but the voice navigation didn't work (it did act like it tried to mute the stereo to give the direction) but I didn't get directions and I just assumed I needed the reverse/speed sensor hooked up to get voice working.
So two questions really. How do you determine pin location, looking at the plug or the wires. And second, do you need the reverse/speed sensor hooked up to get the voice navigation?

Hey Rahvin, if you are looking at the back of the Nav unit, the pin numbers are starting from 1 - 10 going from right to left, then the second row continues from 11 - 20 right to left as well. So, you would essentially do the same thing looking at the back of the plug where the wires are coming out.
You need the speed reverse sensor hooked up to get the voice guidance to work. I don't think you will get turn by turn guidance without it, but I haven't tried.
The upside to not connecting them is you will have complete functionality of the nav unit without them because the nav unit blocks certain functions when the vehicle is moving and it uses the speed sensor to monitor this. I however connected them because I wanted everything working right... Maybe soon someone will figure out a way to circumvent the nav disabling this feature...

Bluemotev - just wanted to give you an awesome Thank You! for putting together all this detail. I have been hesitant to order the E7009 kit from OEMValue until I read your post. Now I think I'm ready to try.
Just a quick question - did you say your 4Runner did not have the JBL sound system? Mine does not, it has the 6 speaker system with a 6 disc in dash CD system. So this should be pretty much a [lot of] plug and play?

Glad to see you got all working.
I'm (eagerly) waiting for my steering wheel switch pads for Bluetooth for my Sienna which I'm sure it will work just fine as you already did yours.
I'm also working out the details to get the Auxiliary audio input feature in 07 Solara Nav unit so I can just plug in any external audio sources (ipod, mp3, dvd, etc.) to play thru the car stereo.
Check back at our site, http://siennaclub.org/forum, sometime next week if you are interested to fully utilize "all" the features and get the most bang outta this unit.
Next, I will be working on the video as well.

Definitely "ground" the Parking brake sensor.
You can implement my "anytime-nav" for the temporary solution or there is also a way to unlock ALL features in one of the menus so you have all features available when driving but you have to unlock it everytime you start the vehicle.
Either way, you need SPEED & REVERSE sensors wired.

Did you ever figure out what the unused blue plug in the headliner was for?
Looks like to use the factory mic, a new sunglass case is needed for a "OEM" look; However, I have not been able to find a P/N for just the Sunglass (w/ MIC) case. The dealership lists a "box assembly" which is the whole thing in the headliner. FYI, A "Stone" box assembly w/ MIC, Homelink, Moon roof is P/N; 63670-0W080-B0 @ $300+

It will work, but you need to get a jbl amp. OEM value may have them you can buy, I got mine from a guy on ebay called toyolexnavspec, i would check them out on ebay, and see if he has any, he was very helpful when i installed mine, and when my nav stopped working (because I am an idiot and messed something up inside the secret menu) he told me to send it back and he would fix it free.
I don't personally know the guy, and wouldn't be recommending him except for I was so pleased by his service. I dont know how his prices stand up against anyone else's though.

Thanks for the info Pirate VI. Do you by chance use a rear entertainment dvd system? Do you know if there are any issues with using the 2007 Navigation with an an overhead or headrest dvd unit?

People have had problems using the Solara "E7009" HU with RSE. It appears that it is not wired internally to the connector like a factory 4Runner "E7008" HU is. Search the forums and you'll find discussion on this.

I installed a OEMValue E7009 in my '06 4runner with JBL and NO RSE. Everything works GREAT!
One other caution for awareness, the E7009 buttons are green LEDs while 4runner E7008 are amber. Contrary to some postings, these are not changable through HU settings, I physically had to take apart the display and solder new LEDs to get this all to match - this is do-able , but not for the light hearted.

Only the on-screen buttons and display background can be switched between a blue and amber. The hard buttons, Menu, Dest, Map, Info, AM, FM, CD/Aux, Seek, Audio, Display, etc., color can't be changed.
