New 2008 4Runner - XM Radio Option or no?

Should I pay for the XM Radio option when buying a new 2008 4Runner Sport Edition? It's listed at costing $449 which sounds like a lot of money for XM.

But was wondering if it's somehow wired better or had other things I'm not aware of.

What do you guys think?

The only way to go cheaper is adding adding an external unit... right now all the XM and Sirius tuners are getting redesigned and are almost impossible to find. Also your radio has to have certain features for aftermarket interfaces to work, and you can easily end up at $400 that route as well.

I do see OEM Yota XM kits on ebay for around $280 --- whole lot better than $449!

I paid more than that, but the option works flawlessly. The receiver lists at about $250 just for the part, and after watching the Toyota audio specialist put it into my 4Runner, he earned the labor charge, just with the extreme care that he took ensuring the unit was well protected.

I can't believe that I ever got along without satellite radio (got it in both cars now and in the house).
