New 2010 Scion alpine unit

Hey there, I was at the toyota dealership getting my oil changed and noticed this unit. Anyone have any idea if this would plug and play in a 2005 4runner?

I want a new head unit but i'm not extremely impressed with alpine's units right now and kenwood's way to expensive. Just curious if anyone can tell by the back of this that it would plug and play or not... looks like a nice unit. Thanks!

Bump. I'm curious about this particular headunit as well. I see someone is selling a bunch of these on Ebay for $399.
 
I just installed the T1809 and it looks like the plugs/pins are the same. Quite frankly, though they all look the same. I can't tell for sure.
 
The answer for this, and the t1814 Pioneer unit is yes... kind of. For the most part they are plug and play. The issue is for iPod connectivity. In 2010, Scion/Toyota updated the iPod/USB connectivity in the Scions, particularly the xB. As such, the normal cord that many people puchase to connect to the T1809 or similar won't work. The plug in the back of the unit is different on the 2010 Alpine and Pioneer. There isn't a great way to bypass this yet, from what I have found. There is a factory part you can purchase from Toyota for around $75 that can be spliced with a standard iPod cord. There are also rumors of people selling cords, but they are extremely difficult to find (if you find some, PLEASE let me know).

If you are not worried about the iPod, then the unit should work just fine from what I have read, but I cannot say for sure. I have a T1814 sitting on my kitchen table waiting for me to attempt the install. More to come... I hope.

I tried that whole pin move thing, no change. I wonder if the scion to toyota wiring is difference between the pins. I even did a jumper to hit both pins and no change. PS for anybody doing this, getting the wire out of the connector is a PAIN.
 
I have made no progess on this and would like to know the same. I am still amazed no one has produced a simple plug and play for these headunits.

If I remember correctly, there are two parts on the current xB that allow the iPod to work: That factory adaptor (86190-53040) and another piece that connects to the USB/iPod plug. I have seen people take that adaptor and splice it with a standard iPod cord. If the other part is infact the USB plug-in, couldn't we purchase both and route it to the glove box? Sorry, kind of thinking out loud here.

You don't know of anywhere online that shows how they did that do you.
