New 2ME 1999 Limited, do i get warranty???

i was in-between buying a 2011 SR5 and this 1999 beauty.
i hope i will be happy, that 2011 was huge but a very nice drive.

i parked it near a restaurant in SF on the way home went in to get change for a dollar to feed the meter and came out to find a ticket on her. is this a bad sign??

i know there are millions of other 4runners just like this i see them daily here in CA... but i love the white ones and am very happy to have this one. 124,000 miles, tan interior only thing that needs work or could be replaced is the rear bumper, there's a bump or two in it. maybe a hood scoop, maybe a bug shield. would love to get new big wheels and thinner tires but theses tires are so very nice. could use a drivers side floor mat. but how do you just buy one.

i bought if from a dealer, can't believe how much they did to make sure this old inexpensive car was a good driving machine.

question do i get a 2 yr. drive train warranty for $1875.? i have til today Wed. to make up my mind.

How much did you pay for the 4Runner? Percentage wise, I'm guessing the warranty is costing you about 10-20% of what the 4Runner cost.

That is a LOT of coin for a 2yr warranty on just the powertrain. FWIW, people have gotten extended warranties for years 3-7 (after the factory warranty) and upto 100k on the complete vehicle for half that on a brand new Toyota.

On the other hand, a transmission or engine replacement and the warranty will pay for itself. It's a Toyota, if properly maintained it should see 200k.

yup 20%, decided not to get it... maybe if it were closer to 10%
