Hello everyone!
Firstly I would like to say hi, and thank everyone on this forum! I recently purchased a 97 4runner limited, factory diff-lock, 177,xxx. This site and it's members were super influential in my final decision to pick out my 4runner, what to look for, what to expect, etc.
Since I bought it I have already done some work to it, and had to fix some issues leftover from previous owners:
installed a B&M tranny cooler, power passenger seat didnt work (found the problem here on the forums and ordered the little plastic gears that always strip out and fixed that!)
PO had used the wrong spark plugs! (single ground) so I fixed that, did the deckplate mod. then the real doozy happened. Misfire on #3 cylinder. swapped the ignition coil but it stayed with the cylinder. Almost gave in and took it to a shop until I found (here on the forum of course!) someone with the same problem. Ran fine when started cold, but once it was turned off and sat for a few minutes while warm, when you restarted it would misfire! It was a bad injector which I replaced and now the truck is back to purring like a kitten.
