New 3rd Gen Owner

Sold my 2012 RAM 2500 to get out of a car payment but needed something that was reliable and could also haul my two kids in carseats and two dogs.. Was looking at 04-08 4 Runners when I ran across this 2001 at a local dealership that they had just gotten on trade. I think I overpaid a bit at $7500 OTD (they wanted closer to 9k) but I'm happy with the purchase. It's an 01 and only has 78k miles on her. Single owner Carfax (Houston owner so no rust), and it looks like they stayed on top of all the maintenance. Sticker on the engine shows timing belt was changed at 73k miles (11/2014), I assume due to age not miles. I was going to do spark plugs so I called the dealership that did the timing belt and they said they did plugs at the same time, guess those won't be needed for a while still. Brakes are a little grabby and the power antenna doesn't work, but other than that it seems to be extremely clean. Anyways, happy to be back in a T4R, I previously owned a 1997 and regretted selling it.

Probably belonged to an older wealthy enough couple that kept up with it, very nice find! Price is in line and besides good ones are only getting more expensive in the last 3-5 yrs or so. Luck and enjoy. :cowboy:

Probably someone's grandmothers that sat in a garage because they couldn't see to drive it anyway. You lucked out my friend! Jealous.

Very nice 4Runner, and with the low miles and great condition, I would say you got a great deal on it. I live in Virginia, and have had a 1998 3.4 auto SR5 for ten years, and have taken it from 76k to 196k with only replacing muffler and other maintenance items like replaced timing belt, water pump, etc. Still looks great too. I plan to keep it for a long time.

YOU'RE THE ONE! I went to the dealer today to see this 4Runner and said it sold last night. Jelly.

Nice find! I'm a new 3rd Gen owner myself. I looked for a few years before I finally found one that made me feel right. Congrats!

Picked up a 1-owner 02' limited that looks just like this for the exact same price, 124k and no timing belt done. Thought I did well but can't compete with this steal!
Track down the old lady that used to own this and give her a kiss.

New owner here as well. Well, 6 months now! Picked mine up with 94k.. thought my low mile one was the unicorn. Guess not! Congrats! Looks super clean. Great cars.

Nice find OP! I'd buy that for $7500 over some rusted out $5000 POS that's gonna need $1000 - $2000 worth of maintenance.

Low mileage, one owner, dealer maintained & garage kept is worth $2000 easy!
