New 3rd Gen.... :)

Thats exactly what i would have done. Did you powder coat the wheels?

Nope - they sure look/feel like it though. :)
I took a wire wheel (air-diegrinder) to them, then did the Rustoleum semi-flat universal - and a special "wheel" clearcoat paint.
Oh - the bumps are Jounce (Icon). They are spendy, and I would have never paid the cost for them if I was building the rig. :)
I agree the black becoming the norm :) (my other 2 vehicles are all black - which I've been doing since yr 2000 - before it was "cool"). But the wife asked for me to do this - so whatever makes her happy. :)

whatd you use to paint the grill? i want to do that.

I used the same stuff as I did with the wheels - I think it's pretty new - comes in a nifty can that you can spray at all sorts of angles. Rustoleum Universal. It's a little spendy at $8.00 a can. Then after a few thin coats of that, some Rustoleum "Wheel" clearcoat - it seems extremely durable.
The most important thing to do before painting is prep. I sanded with an orbital and 220grit so the paint will stick. (then by hand in the areas the orbital doesn't get to). :)

Nice!!!

I was watching this on the other board as well, definite steal at that price, I paid almost that much for mine....if I remember right previous owner said the bumper was a Hanson for a Jeep XJ they modded, but I could be wrong...I like it

Nearly a 10 year thread resurrection- is that a record? LOL

Sadly, the time has come and I will be letting go of her soon.
I had completely forgot about this post from nearly 10 years ago.
I found it because Pinterest pinged back here after googling TLT 4runner.
I haven’t been on here since 2009 lol.

The TLT 4runner is still with me (garaged a lot of it’s life), and has only added 35K miles to the ticker. She still fires up and runs amazing. (And hauls balls, better than my 15’ Tundra with the 5.7) LOL. I’d like to keep her in the family, but we have too many other things going on and more toys to buy (quads for the kids, a shop to build and a pool to install).
If anyone is interested PM me - I’m in WA north of Portland. I’ll be asking around $11-$12K. It still has everything listed, but added a few more things. The 35” Kevlars are like new.
