Wheel info is in my sig. The 4runner is actually pretty similar to the H3. Just little differences really. The trail has off-road technology that the H3 didn't. I am going to miss the turning radius of the H3 tho. The 4runner turns pretty good, but not like the H3. I was able to put 35" tires on the H3 without any modifications, but needed a lift to properly fit 33" tires on the 4runner. The H3, like the Limited, is all-wheel drive, but my trail is part-time 4WD. Haven't needed to take it out of 2WD yet, so can't compare the difference. The traction control on the 4runner is very noticeable, where the H3's was not. The H3 just did it without all the brake noise. Haven't driver a Limited, so I can't tell you if it's the same way.
The H3 is a bit under-powered, but so is the 4runner. 4.0L V6 vs. 3.7L I5. There's a 30HP difference on paper, but so far it doesn't feel very different. Might change once the 4runner engine gets broken in after a few thousand miles. I still have less than 1k on my truck so far.
I did put a CAI and a cat-back exhaust on the H3 and that helped with throttle response quite a bit, so I'll probably be looking to do the same on my 4runner. I know all the naysayers have their opinions and dyno facts about how the HP increase won't be noticeable, but I can tell you from my real-world experience that it makes a difference when you push the skinny pedal.
I loved my H3, but I'm really liking the 4runner so far as well.

Mean looking truck, congratz! As for me, I'm looking for a 3rd gen and can't even imagine getting a brand new vehicle.. I would be worried sick about someone scratching it or dinging it or keying it.... Hell, some of the 3rd gens I see online that are in almost perfect condition, I'd still be worried I think...

The lift rides pretty good. I've never had a lift in a vehicle before. I'd say it's a firm and smooth ride. The stock nose dive is mostly gone. I can tell the ride is stiff while I'm driving it, but when I hit bumps, it's not harsh and it takes them with ease.

Nice 4Runner! I am also a first time Toyota owner with my '16 SR5P. Wanted a TEP but couldn't find one anywhere and couldn't wait around for it to be ordered, I'm moving in 5 weeks. But, I am happy with my truck and love it more than I ever did my Optima! :dancin:

Oh yes, the mods. I've got a list, but my budget is still recovering from the first round, which was the lift/wheels/tires. lol

I'm getting to like mine more and more every day. Just had to feel each other out for a while. I think the babying phase is over and I'm starting to drive like normal again.

hi everyone, new to toyota and new to the forum. currently looking to purchase a Sr5 premium 4wd vs limited 4wd. I'm a novice and was hoping you guys can give me some helpful insights.
I understand the sr5 premium is part time 4wd which needs turning the knob to engage into 4wd vs full time awd limited. Also read that when this is activated 4runner will not go anywhere when going from bad condition/slick road onto dry pavement. As I in iowa sometimes we have crummy weather in the winter, this is an important factor regarding which model i choose, and am wondering how difficult it is to get around in the winter when using part time 4wd on the premium, as in if I engaged in 4wd on one street and then turn into a plowed more dry road will I have issue with the 4runner not going anywhere and I need to reswitch back to 2wd?
