New 4Runner! V8

Guys, I just got home late last night. Went to Columbus, Ohio for the Arnold Classic. On the way up I ran into snow, sleet, and ice. The 4Runner handled it very good! Better than my truck.

Almost 700 miles! Very smooth even when doing 70-80 on the interstate.

That last picture is how my 1997 4runner looked just before I hit a patch of ice on a bridge doing about 35 MPH. The truck was totaled. Front end was smashed in from hitting the concrete median barrier. After I hit the barrier, the back of the truck swung around and hit the median barrier again breaking the left rear axle and crushing the left side of the car so hard the tailgate could not be opened. This was at a speed of around 35 MPH!

Glad YOU survived the trip home! I would NEVER drive 70-80 in ice and snow! Four wheel drive will not help you stop.

I wasn't doing 70-80 when it was snowing. On the way back it was clear and the roads were clear, that's when I doing that speed.

Looking Awesome

What a nice titanium look, low mile, AWD 4.7L powerhouse you have found! Congrats. You'll definitely enjoy the rides for many years to come.

EDIT: Don't forget to wash off those salts from the bottom of your Runner :-)

Cheers!

To OP: Congrats on your purchase! IMHO: you have arguably the best (and definitely the most powerful) model of the 4Runner they have built! :thumb:Enjoy!:)

Of course above statement may have to be changed with release of 6th gen with V8.:hiding:

Nice find! I have a 04 V8 titanium just like yours only double the miles! Don't forget to do the timing belt/water pump in a year or so. Mine was not done when I purchased it at 147K so I did it then. How do you like the Michelin tires that are on it? I think thats where I am going next set. I got rear ended about three weeks ago- still at the body shop and they haven't even started working on it yet!

Thank you! I really do the feel the power, plus its very smooth! I don't know if its the tires that makes it smooth or what.
