Want to buy a new 4Runner 4x4 Should one get a 09 or wait to see how the the 10 comes out. We have been doing a lot of internet searching not seeing to many new 08 & 09 available (the way we want it) also looking at getting a used till the 10s comes out and not to many of them either (the way we want it )Its Probably gonna be hard to get to good deal with such limited inventory.

Have you looked in the Houston TX area?? There are many Toyota dealers here...and they should have plenty of 2008s for you to choose from. 2009s have not been released yet around here.

BTW, it is a very good time to buy a new car....dealers are giving these vehicles away at or below invoice!

:iagree: I picked up a 2008 SR5 a couple of months ago for $25,900. If you do happen to find one, try not tbe so quick on the trigger, like I was (had a 91 used to haul stuff for work and tranny went out) and definately haggle w/ the dealer. They'll be begging for your business with the economy as it is.

Bargains on everything but 4Runners have looked all over Texas for new 08-09 and used 06-08 Limited or Sport 4X4 V-6 in two different colors and its been slim pickings and no deals. I ended up with a new silver 08 sport 4x4 V-6 with the urban package loaded with everything but the receiver hitch for $31000 + TTL Pick it up Monday if the test drive is good. I don't know why you shop and bargain and after you buy it you fell like you got screwed. I hope the test drive is good

still a premium for the V8

up here the deals are almost $8K off but admittedly always the V6

let us know the colors and we'll keep an eye out

I picked up my 08 limited 4x4 v8 in December (Houston) after hunting everywhere in a 200 mile area to only find 2 available with a v8 and 4x4...

Tons of v6s out there but few v8s is what everyone kept saying...

That is because no one is buying them except for a few enthusiasts! :)

Everyone is scaling back on productions to keep supply & demand withing reasonable limits. So, i would imagine that deals will not be as good in the near future as the current inventory is being sold. When i bought my TSX, Acura had stopped making TSX. So, the dealer had a fixed inventory on the lot. No new TSX were coming over the next month or two.

Many say not to buy a new model design in the first production year. Tend to have a few bugs that get worked out in 2nd year of production.

With the deals on 08 and 09's, go for the current design.

I am going to pick up a brand new 08 limited v8 4wd today. I bought it for 38,600 minus the 4000 dollars cash back from toyota, which made the price 34,600. The sticker was around 42,000. I went through the same things you are, and I decided that even if I love the 2010, it wouldn't be worth the extra 9 or 10 thousand dollar difference than the 08. You know the 2010 will go up in price, and they will not be selling them for much less than sticker when they first come out.
