Question about the Hitch though... How is it tied into the rest of the bumper? Would it be suitable to replace the OEM V8 hitch receiver or more in-line with the OEM V6 hitch receiver?

It is more in-line with the V6 receiver, tied-in to the same central mounting locations.

Hmm. That would certainly make me think a little more before buying... I don't tow heavy items often, but I would like the confidence to know that the receiver won't let me down or is a safety concern when I do.

Would it be possible to use the OEM V8 hitch receiver with this bumper? If no, is there anything that could be done to beef up the receiver (thinking like an add-on/customization option when ordering or something).

Is there a place to mount the license plate on the swing out or run wiring up to the tire for a lamp? Required for California...
