new '90 T4R with no spare tire or tire rack

We just bought a '90 T4R 2nd gen. The previous owner replaced the tailgate and removed the swinging rack that held the spare tire and doesn't know what happened to it. The replacement tailgate has the license plate in the middle and no place to mount the spare. Any suggestions besides a new tailgate & spare tire rack?

Just mount it underneath, the normal location for the spare.

That's good to know that you can mount it underneath, except that we just found a swing away tire carrier on eBay and bought it. So now we need the appropriate tailgate with the backup lights and license plate holder in the right place to accommodate the spare tire. Any ideas where we could find one? We are in Southern California.

Just mount the plate and light on the spare with a generic plate holder/light.

Option C

Probably a little late to suggest this but you could also stick the spare up on the roof. Gives the truck that on safari look. Not for everyone though.
