By better in this case I assume you mean LOUDER. Because LOUDER is NOT better.
Really need to know what you're looking for. In general...I seriously doubt you'll get any better sound if you just replace the amp. The most significant thing you can do for better sound is replace the speakers. Not only can you achieve BETTER sound...but if you do it right you can get LOUDER sound. Speakers have an efficiency rating. Some speakers are very very efficient. They can produce a lot of sound a 1 watt that some speakers produce at 100watts. Think what they'd sound like at 50watts.

I'd recommend replacing the head unit before the amp. Most factory head units turn down the bass as you turn up the volume in order to protect the speakers. In my case I probably wouldn't need so much volume if the sound didn't get so thinned out by that feature. Anyway, that's where I'm going to start.
