Hey hows everyone doing??

Obviously im new here but instead of posting this in the new thread i figured I post it in my future community so I can meet all the people with the same truck

Im not new to the toyota game, and ive owned quite a few vehicles in my time. my last truck was a 2005 X-Runner.

SO here we go I just purchased a

1996 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4X4 with an auto transmission and get this

82000 original miles, perfect exterior and perfect interior, shes pristine. Its completely stock (tires may be a bit bigger) ad unmolested and I couldnt be happier, shes drive PERFECT

i know i could spend hours searching through this forum(im not stranger to that with forums) but I was hoping since im new you guys wouldnt mind throwing in you .02

im curious as to what you think beginning mods should be, as well as things or issues I should address before they become a real problem! I look forward to your responses and im excited to join your community

Welcome! I'm still waiting on my T4R (get it this Sunday). The first thing everyone is going to tell you to do is to yank the running boards. Also first up on the list is usually the deck plate and ISR mod. I also plan on throwing on a transmission cooler to prevent the dreaded "strawberry milkshake." What island do you live on?

Nice looking truck! Reminds me of one.... :D :D

Haha.. It's nice to see another Azure 4Runner owner!

As for mods, the sky is the limit (or at least your wallet). Good luck!

Unless you have a heavy use for the running boards (small children) id say rip them off. Your truck looks like its in great shape!

That truck looks great! That is low miles and I noticed the military stickers on it. May I ask what you paid for it? I have heard things are more expensive out on the islands.

Great looking Runner! As far as mods, that all depends on how much or how little you want to spend. A good idea is to go through the build thread sticky towards the top of the page to get some ideas.

Deck plate and ISR? I'll have to look into that right now.

I live on Oahu, does anyone on here live on the island?

No I dont mind at all, I paid 8k for it

I feel like she needs and intake and exhaust tho.

I dont plan on going to crazy with her but enough lift to fit 33's and i think ill be happy, clear headlights/corners and clear bumper light/reflectors will be a nice addition as well. I really want a new stereo and speakers..but i might take a while to find a deck i like. any suggestions?

as far as expense goes I dont feel as if i'll be cutting any corners, I wanna do everything right and produce a high quality/slightly modified truck

Welcome, nice truck!

Everything you asked for is already covered in the buyers guide sticky.

thanks I was just reading through that right now, I didnt see anything about stereo decks tho and I was trying to get more user feedback with that question
