New Bilsteins or OME little lift

I've searched and read all I can find and have come down to these 2 options.
I'm doing 95% highway driving and then fishing and hiking in remote areas.

1. Bilstein shocks front and rear. Adjustables in front 0-2.5"

2. OME 881 coil springs front w/ 90004 sport shocks
OME 906 coil springs rear w/ 60028 sport shocks

My 1998 Limited has a slight rake now, a little higher in back. I like that.
Front shocks are shot, so I need to do something.
I'd like to get a little taller tire on board.
And I'd like to have a comfortable ride on the highway.

Opinions??

Which adjustable bilsteins would you be getting of the front? The Tacoma model, or the Tundra model?

The ride will be stiff with the OME setup. You don't need a lift to run 265/75R16's....that is a great tire size for 4runners. I guess I lean toward getting all new shocks, and staying with your factory springs if you don't want a "lift" and simply want a slightly bigger tire.

I run OME 881's front and 890's rear w/OME sport shocks and love it, rear is a lil stiff unloaded but with my dogs, or hockey gear, or camp gear, or whatever back there its MONEY!!

if you do this lift without the front spacer you will have rake until you load her down with all of your camp gear, which will almost level it out (i have alot of camp gear and 2 dogs!)

You can run 265/75's or 285/75's (32's or 33's)

or you can go the other route.

i dont think you need the adj bilsteins. You could just use the HDs with the 880/881 up front and the 906 in back. ive als read that the 881/906 combo results in negative rake.

OME coils and Bilsteins do not work together. if you are going to do a shock with the OME coils, you should match it with the OME shocks too.

Thanks for all the info guys. Still looking. leaning toward a 880/906 OME with OME comfort shocks. Anyone know the part number on the comfort shocks?

I thinking this will be better than stock with out being too bumpy for me.

My understanding is that the "Comfort" shocks are no longer being produced. They have only one option for front shocks, and two for the rear: regular and firm. The part numbers for the 4runner setup now are: 90004 up front 60027 in the rear. Wheelers and trdparts4u.com both list the 60028's as a "comfort" shock, but ARB's application guide says that there is only one shock option for the 4runner, and that is the 60027. Perhaps the 60028 is softer, but ARB didn't fit it specifically for the 4runner. Anybody have experience here? I went with 60027 and it is firm.
