Awesome, thanks. I figured you'd be using an aluminum fairlead and synthetic. Totally the way to go, both for looks and function.
 
That turned out very nice!

What kind of weight did it end up being?

Also any thoughts having a wider version made to match the limited flares?
 
The bumper got weighed today and comes in at 90 lbs. Not to bad as it sits with fog lights and everything. Also the edge sticks out a bit from my silver flares and will probably match up pretty well with limited flares. Brian2Sun was looking at it today and agrees that it shouldn't need to be any wider and would look fine. I will take a close up of that corner so you can see what I am talking about.

Those are bare steel prices. Still need to figure out shipping. If you are local to Riverside or able to pick up in Riverside, CA then can arrange for Powder coating at an additional charge. Since he doesnt have shipping figured out yet he does not want to ship powder coated due to possible chips or damage. Look for me to post a group buy in near future.

I wanted to custom fab up a front bumper but I've fallen in love with this bumper. Might be a couple months til I have the dinero for it but I would love to buy one.
 
I built my own rear bumper and as much as I wanted to build a front I had to go with a shop due to no time and also access to a welder. I am just glad I found one as easy to work with as Outdoor Logic. Jimmy took good care of me and wants to develope even more products for our trucks.

so just to ease my mind... this will still be available to buy in the next few months right? When I'm ready with money I can call these guys and they will fab it up with the quickness?
 
Yes they will still be around and the plan is to keep this bumper available as a "production" item built as ordered.

Can you get a top profile shot? edit: (nevermind, I studied the pics more). I really like the design and it looks great on your rig. I'm starting to look at new bumpers, plan on making it my first mod of 2011...gotta start the year off right!

on that last frontal pic of the bumper installed, looks to me like you had it painted a diff'rent color other than black...gunmetal? or is it just the angle of the shot? color combination with your rig is really nice.:cool::cool::cool:
 
It is a powder coat color called Hammertone. It is a combination of silver and black. The powder coater has being trying to get my Fab guy to use it for a while and says it is more durable then the standard single color finishes. I was asked if I wanted the black or Hammer tone, my response was "which one will get done faster"..LOL I am glad I got that color and am going to have my bumper, roll bar and rack done to match sometime in the future.
 
The air bag sensors are not on our bumpers. They are mounted to the frame or possibly inside on the transmission hump next to the firewall. I remember seeing when I was working on something but can't recall exact location. The only thing electrical in our bumpers are the turn signals and for some versions the fog lights.

Airbag sensors are like an alarm shock sensor on steroids. It is set to go trigger once the vehicle is contacted by a specified force value. Another example would be the an earthquake emergency shut off device for a gas line on your house. It is a steel ball that sits inside a glass capsule. Given enough shaking force the glass brakes and allows the ball to fall and shut off the line. When your truck is hit hard enough the "ball" makes contact completing the circuit and sets off the airbag. Will an aftermakret bumper change the force value? Maybe but IMHO it would make it go off earlier since you are making things stiffer and eliminating hte crumple zone that absorbs some of the impact.
