New coil over. (Step up from Bilstein 6112)

I'd like to hear some opinions on what would be one step above the quality of the Bilstein 6112's. I've had them on two 5th Gens 4Runners with a hidden winch setup and have been very happy with them, but looking for a step up for a new 4Runner with a similar winch setup.
I do want spanner wrench adjustable ones this time.

any 2.5" adjustable coilover would be considered the next step up.....the "only" thing the 6112's are lacking is rebuildable and threaded body.

6112/5160's were my second choice. I knew if I had gone with them, I would have wanted to upgrade so it would have been more of a financial loss for me.

I saved up and paid in full for my set up.

Pretty much what he said. I went from 6112's to Radflos because I wanted adjustability without having to tear everything off each time I adjusted heights.
A lot of people like King and Icon.
I happen to pick Radflos due to price and several members recommending them to me. I can also adjust them on the vehicle which is a huge plus for me. And I like how they're adjusted vs some brands. I've enjoyed the shocks for about 10,000 miles now.

Before I knew about the Radflos, I couldn't find Kings without reservoir (didn't care for or need them) and I wanted to see what progressive valving was like instead of the digressive Icons since the 6112's are also digressive.

I don't know anything about ToyTec but I see they also have a 2.5 rebuildable shock too. Something to look into also.
 
I've ran the Fox DSC on my Tundra and 4runner and really dug them. I'm also hearing a lot of good things from friends at Bilstein about the 8112's.

KING
FOX 2.5
Radflo 2.5

Depending on the aftermarket weight you may be looking to add,
ICON, KING and Radflo offer flexibility in upgrading the coil.

ICON comes standard with a 650lb coil, but can be upgraded to 700lbs.

KING comes standard with a 550lb coil, but can be upgraded to 600, 650 and 700lbs.

Radflo 2.5 comes standard with a 600lb coil, but can be upgraded to 650 and 700lbs.

FOX 2.5 Coilovers come with a 600lb coil.

All the coilovers listed above also come Standard or Extended Travel (Requires Aftermarket UCA).

You are right, I wish they would be better selection of the colors.But it didn’t bother me at that time, when I bought it, but if someone really needs to change the color, they can always powdercoat it. BTW really like your setup. Cheers!

Could you PM quotes for a set of Radflo and ICON coilovers to fit a 2008 4Runner?
 
I got the Toytec Aluma series. It has been good to me so far. Adjustable height, rebuild-able. Handles the weight of my mods perfectly.

I thought about powder coating them but feared that it may have voided JBA warranty.

I did a quick masking around the bushings and shot mine with black paint. Holding up quite well so far. Spent less than an hour on it.
 
Still happy with the lift and ride from my 6112/5160 setup in the Colorado mountains.

Never felt the need to “upgrade” to a more costly shock...height is the way I want it and my trail speeds are fairly slow as I crawl. If I lived someplace where I would run high speeds, then a “high end” shock may be a better choice.

I am glad to hear that some things makes someone happy! OP asked a question “ Step up from Bilstane” I just gave him some ideas. BTW never had a Billis, maybe they as good as Kings LOL!!! Cheers!!!
