New engine break-in

This is a very controversial topic and I've heard/been told many different things on how to properly break in a new engine, however I found a article a guy did, and he tested 300 engines with this break in procedure and so far it's the best evidence I've seen of a good break in. It's for my 3VZE, and he did tests on motorcycles, but the principle of engine operation is the same as long as it's a reciprocating engine. I'd just like to get a few opinions of what you guys think about this Break In Secrets--How To Break In New Motorcycle and Car Engines For More Power but like I said, not saying this IS the best way, but it makes sense

Seems like every builder out there has their own ideas about the best way to break in a motor, I don't know enough to say who's right or wrong. I know enough to say this though, if I bought a motor from a builder I'd follow their break-in procedure to the letter, no matter how silly it seems. Anything else and you're risking them denying a warranty claim if something goes wrong.

I was told a long time ago by a retired ford engineer the best way to break in a new engine was to: Let it warm up and then run the hell out of it

I have built several motorcycle engines over the past 15 years, the first one I built I ran it easy like most people say to do and could never get it to stop using oil. I went to see Mr. Brinkly told him what I was dealing with and how I broke it in, He told me that was a common mistake that nearly everyone makes. So the second one I built I followed his advice and never had another issue.
