I hit up some class 4 roads in VT this weekend. Was fun as hell. Though I for got to take my hitch step off, I did hit it and my nerf bars, but no damage. Just dunked them in some dirt/mud. I was really impressed with how well the T4R did. I had to turn around at one point as I was a good 10 miles in and had no cell reception, no recovery gear, and no one in my family knew where I was. I had an oh sh1t moment, did a 7 point turn and high tailed it out of the back woods. :wow2:

Hello my fellow NE 4R drivers...
I live in Westerly, RI. I was hoping to find a good body shop in CT/RI that could apply an undercoating for rust etc and wondering if my 2016 4R TRD Pro already has an undercoating. I purchased my second 4R today and Thursday Im flying down to pick in up in Knoxville and drive it back to RI.

Also hows the factory stereo and speakers in the TRD Pro? Thinking of an upgrade. thanks.

Hello my fellow NE 4R drivers...
I live in Westerly, RI. I was hoping to find a good body shop in CT/RI that could apply an undercoating for rust etc and wondering if my 2016 4R TRD Pro already has an undercoating. I purchased my second 4R today and Thursday Im flying down to pick in up in Knoxville and drive it back to RI.

I could not find a shop to do the undercarriage coating so I am going to order some Fluid Film and do it myself in the coming weeks. I hope you had a great drive up with the new Runner.

Wow I just found this part of the forum! I've been looking at random profiles to figure out if anyone was in the area lol.

New 3rd gen owner here based out of central/southern NH. The town I live in has a few short class 5 roads that are fun...but short, really only a few hours of messing around to be had.

I can attest to the need for being very cautious around here as far as staying off posted land. One of the first times I was out I quite accidentally stumbled onto someone's land (their chain had been knock down in a storm, never even saw it) and cruised right by a trail cam. A few days later a buddy of mine sent me a FB post with pictures of me and my truck basically starting a hunt for me. All the guys buddies had some choice words about the type of person I must be, and the entire public works department in my town was on the look out for me!

I reached out to the guy and explained it was an accident and that I had turned around soon as I realised I was on private land. He was fine and said no harm done since I wasn't bombing around tearing up ruts anc whatnot, but for a few days there I was driving in fear of some redneck justice coming my way.

That said I'm super excited to try out sandwich notch and would definitely be interested in future meetups/rides!

I'm thinking about picking up some new tires if there's any Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales. What are you running?

My 4Runner is primarily a daily driver but we head up to the ski slopes frequently and I'd love to hit the trails next year after winter. I was dead-set on new KO2s until I did some more research.

Not sure if there's a Duratrac in your size, but I had those on my former Jeep and liked them a lot. KO2s seem to be popular. I had Firestone Destinations on my Escape that were good. There are AT and MT versions. Finally, I've always liked the look, and reviews of, the BF Goodrich AT.

The cheapest I've found for my size with shipping is from 4wheelparts. What part of boston are you in? I'm on the medford/malden line just a bit north of boston with a '14 SR5 5th gen.

Anyone know of reputable auto / off-road shops within an hour of Boston that work on 4runners? or doesn't have to be 4runner-specific, just reliable shops that are somewhat knowledgeable about suspension lifts, etc?

looking to do some suspension work on my 4th gen, but don't have the space (condo) or proper tools. would appreciate any suggestions. thanks!

Hey man! I’m in Rhode Island now born and raised south shore Mass. got into a 4runner (4th gen) a couple weeks ago and am doing the daystar 2.5/1.5 in Abington MA at “Off-road Essentials”. Found them through a quick google search if you want me to update after lift (coming up Thursday) I will!

Hi All - I'm in the Boston area, but frequently at home in CT. I'm new to the forum and want to post a thread, but cant just yet

I am looking for a 4th Gen. I JUST missed my perfect opportunity on a dealer site. Apparently missed it by a day, by a buyer in Utah who paid in full, sight unseen.

Anyway - looking for a 06-09 with <100K miles, Limited, preferably V8 (but open to V6).
