New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

Here's a few more pics with the Blistein 5100s at 0.85. Stock 265/70R17 P Metric. I got a chance to do some light mudding yesterday unexpectedly. The tires crawled through some light mud perfectly and you would have never known you were in mud. I was impressed and in 2wd. I ride mine aired up to 40 psi for daily road riding. I find this pressure to be the perfect balance for ride quality and MPG.

that's overinflated for P tires

I asked Falken's tech support team what psi I should run the p-rated at3w at in stock size, they recomended to run them at 36 psi, I have been running 38 psi so far. 40 psi may be a bit high, but It does not seem unrealistic. I have been running stock tires, on multiple vehicles, 3-4 psi higher than recommended for years with no adverse affect.

I just got a set of these 2 weeks ago. The BFG mud terrain's we had were getting worn. They vibrated really bad above 35 and were getting loud. Decided on these tires and got them ordered because we had a trip to Hilton Head planned and did not want to deal with them the whole trip. These ride great and are quiet like others have said. I don't feel the extra weight like others have said most likely because of the tires we took off. No problems in the rain from the tropical storm that passed through while we were down there either. Also noted slightly better MPG. With the Gobi, removed front valance, and my right foot averaged about 17.2 on the trip. Good so far.

For those with a few thousand miles on these, how are they holding up? Any complaints? How are they performing in rain? Specifically standing water and light rains (enough to break loose any surface oils, but not enough to wash them away)?

I'm looking at these in stock size, p-metric... and comparing them against the ST Maxx (price has me leaning heavily toward these).

They are (so far) fantastic in the rain. Wearing well so far, 6k on them, rotated once

Fresh rain this morning, obvious oil on the road. I passed an SUV that managed to flip itself on a curve that I am able to take at easily 15 over, even in the rain (not that I would EVER do that ;) ) Never feel like I am going to hydoplane when going through standing water (Not tested at highway speeds)

Bonus: Picture of one at 5 PSI when I was testing my new compressor

I can't decide between 4ply and 10ply. Has anyone wheeled the 4ply? Any noticeable negatives? With the difference only about 100 I'm leaning to 10 ply.

Thanks! This is exactly the review I've been waiting on. I took the plunge last week. New set should be here in a week!

I have P rated (4ply) and they did great off-road, even at street pressure. There were a couple rocky portions that would've been easier had I aired down, but the tires did their job. (Less bouncing up a steep hill and more driving up.) I've since purchased a compressor :) No comparison on a 10ply

Hope you like them as much as I do. :)

Does anyone know if the rubber compound is different between the 10 ply and 4 ply? Would love to save some rotating mass, but worried about chunking as my off-roading is in the granite filled Colorado rockies.

I have been a member since I ordered my 2016 Trail Premium white from Japan back in Oct of 2015 and have waited this long to change out the tires.I have been using the Forum to glean all kinds of useful information and installed DeMello sliders a few weeks ago.Having reviewed many tire sites and looked at so many "opinions" on the merits etc of the various tires the members used I ordered a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3s and installation is this friday. Im excited-I waited a long time.I have lots of other "stuff" on the truck also but mostly interior.I tried to post my "stock" Duellers but was advised I did not have enough posts! Go figure

I've yet to see a real affirmative answer on the durability of the SL vs LT tires. I am in need of some new tires for my 4th gen before winter and I wanted to get 32's in either 275/65/18 or 255/75/18. The load range E tires are like 60 lbs a tire though which is significantly heavier than my stockers which I believe are 33lbs. They're also significantly heavier than the K02s on our 5th gen...

New Tires

Well I got my new Falken Wildpeak AT3s in 265/70/17 "p" rated installed on friday 23rd and am very pleased.Americas Tire did the install and they balanced perfectly without the need for weight or ballast. I have a perfectly stock 2016 Trail Premium and there is no rubbing whatsoever even at full lock. The ride is very smooth and I did not notice any real difference between them and the Bridgestone Duellers they replaced.I have driven less than 100 miles and noticed no "road noise". I have not had them "off road" yet--its just too hot right now in So Cal.Also mine did not "smell"-apart from the usual new tire smell!!!!

Looking to get a set of these to put onto new 2016 TE when I get it in a few weeks. Is the recommendations generally to also replace the spare tire with the same model?

Local dealer in Toronto has quoted me C$400 to take my brand new Duelers and put same size A/TW3 on them (not including the spare.) Seems like a decent price for the convenience of not having to kijiji the OEM set later?

Just ordered these in the P rated 265/70/17 flavor from DTD with $75 off! (rebate for DTD only), will post pics and review once installed!

About to pass 10,000 miles. A few weeks ago I found a piece of metal in the tire.

No loss of pressure. Went in for the regular tire rotate/balance and it just popped out, did not penetrate beyond the surface of the tire at all.

Easy to see how that could have led to a flat.

No complaints about the tires, they are excellent for my usage. They measure no wear. Good in wet weather. Passed the wet grass hill tailgating test with no need for 4WD. Plenty of traction to get me down wet fire roads, the unmaintained roads around my local WMA, and the occasional trip to the OHV park.

Do you have the p-rated version? If so what psi have you been running them at?

Yes.. I'm quoting myself...but I just spoke with fallen and they have informed me that both the p-metric and LT are dual ply sidewalls (only their M/T has 3ply), but the LT is reinforced. I was also informed that yes, p-metric does wear faster marginally faster, but they should still make it to the 55k mark. Maybe this was already discussed, but I found it helpful for myself so I figured I'd share.
