New Falken AT tire (A/T3W)

I have read through quite a few pages on this thread and still can’t find a definitive answer. Will 275/70/17 rub really bad on a stock setup?

It's hard to say as with the loose tolerances of plastic body pieces, every truck is a little bit different.

Chances are that it would not rub "really bad" but they would perhaps rub a bit in the normal spots: mud flap and fender liner. Both are super simple to adjust enough to prevent rubbing.

That's interesting, Rubitrek is literally identical to the Wildpeak except for the modified look, even the description is literally the same between the two:

That is interesting... the only other difference I see is U.T.Q.G. specs: Rubitrek is rated 10% lower -600 vs. Wildpeak: 660 ... Maybe Falken just have it for select vendors to sell it as "in house " tire and as a cheaper alternative to Wildpeak

On my wifes runner..275s on ray10s on stock 2019 sr5..been waiting for my Lift to show up but couldn't wait anymore so we threw on the wheels/tires.. had to remove mud flaps.. but no rubbing exept for a tiny tiny bit on front bumper when goin in reverse at full lock..other than that they fit no problem.. now would i go wheel hard off road with this set up probably not.. but for daily city driving it works! Love the set up smooth and quiet!!

That is interesting... the only other difference I see is U.T.Q.G. specs: Rubitrek is rated 10% lower -600 vs. Wildpeak: 660 ... Maybe Falken just have it for select vendors to sell it as "in house " tire and as a cheaper alternative to Wildpeak

And there is also their corporate sibling, the Sumitomo Encounter AT made in the same factory by the same company. I almost went that route as the Wildpeaks were on backorder. But a Discount Tire guy found me a set in OH and shipped it over.

The Encounter AT is maybe 1lb lighter, maybe not.

What size rims are your Ray10's and are you running a spacer??

They shouldn't rub at all. I have a friend with a 2014 TRD ORP with 275's and stock wheels, no rubbing at all. But moot point now since you are going with 265's.

various 2-ply sidewall tires have pretty similar sidewall thickness from P to E.

The reason a tire can handle a heavier load is precisely because of a thicker sidewall, so your statement is incorrect.

Does anyone have the P285/70/17 version of these with a 2.5" lift? I'm looking into these or the KO2's in 285/70/17 C since my 265 k02 are at the wear bars. I know all trucks are different, but I'm curious if you have experienced rubbing with this setup. I have aftermarket UCA's too.

Was about to pull the trigger on some Falkens for my 2019 SR5 but then spotted this deal at Tire Buyer. $648 for a set of 285 KO2's and then a $50 rebate on top of that (use code RMN40 for $40 off to get that price). Having mine delivered to Firestone who will install for $68. Seems like killer deal.

Firestone Destination A/T C Load. 47 lbs. You won't find a SL load much lighter in a 275.

Yeah I just hope its not a price mistake or something. Going to try and get them installed tomorrow. I called for an appointment and they said the next one was monday... but that I could stop by and they could try to squeeze me in.

I've got 285/70 E's on stock wheels, not lifted, front leveling (1.5-2"), and 1" body lift. Only had to push the fender liner forward on both sides, didn't even need to BMC. I've noticed a VERY small rub mark on the stock driver UCA, but that'll be replaced before too long; with aftermarket uppers it won't be a problem.

Yup, that's a great find. What I notice is that the bigger names get equivalent tires at lower weights. I wonder if that's coincidence or better tech. I am not talking offroad strength, for a change, but overall construction and primary functions.

It just kills me that the C rated k02 in 285 is 51 pounds (I believe), and the 275 c rated falken is 58 pounds (I believe).

I really want a 275 in a C, but would like something that is aggressive and closer to 50 pounds. I have the trd pro wheels at 7 inches, and not sure how I feel about getting a tire that is out of spec for the wheel (285s recommend 7.5inches, I know TONS of people do it without issue). Mine came with the fender liner mod, so hopefully rubbing wouldnt be an issue although you never know with a 285.
