It may just be my opinion. I only had the stock tires for a bit but didn’t really get a chance to use them in the snow. The falkens seemed much better in the wet compared to stock. The last car was a Subaru and really doesn’t matter what tires you throw on those things they grip in the snow no matter what lol.

My stock size is 275/55/20. I’m on the road 90% of the time. Just want something a little wider. Either 285/55/20 or 275/60/20.

Unless you have a lift, you will rub with anything larger than a 275/55r20. The 275/55r20 is actually bigger than stock if your referring to a tr4 limited
I have the Toytec 2" TRD Pro Lift on it.
I don't have much high quality side shots, but here's two from my cellphone. I do have some rake, but I go camping a lot so I didn't want to lose the level when weight is back there.
Did you have any rubbing with the 285's? I'm throwing a set of these on this weekend 285/70/17. I have a 2" spacer in the front but I'm worried I'll get a lot of rubbing.

I had minor rubbing on the passenger side fender liner. I just pushed it forward and that's it. I haven't done any serious off-roading yet so that's still up in the air, but otherwise no, haven't had any rubbing on anything.

I did have to remove the front mudflaps.

A little, but not consistently enough to blame it on the tires and not the snow. About half the snow out here is trash because it doesn't get cold enough for long enough for most areas west of the Cascades.
Never felt it do it at 10 PSI, so might be an air pressure thing too

Finally got the tires installed along with other things after sitting in my garage for a very long time.
285/70/17 on SCS SR8s. Bilstein/Toytec 3"/2" lift with SPC uca.
Got a slight rubbing at the mud guard on one side and fender liner/bumper on the other. The rubbing on the fender liner/bumper is very minor, the tire pushes the plastic less than a quarter of an inch, I may just leave it as is. The rub on the mud guard looks more severe which I plan to do the heat gun trick.
Also, the notorious steering vibration that I had in stock form was gone!

How did you find out they were out of round?
What's a sign for that issue?

I was getting the famous steering wheel wobble. I took it to get road forced balanced and I was getting high road force numbers 42 and 45. After force matching they came down to around 25-26 which is still pretty high for a passenger tire. This is how they can tell that the tire is not perfectly round and that's why it caused vibrations in the steering wheel.
My road force numbers for the new tires are now 10 and 13.
I ran 32psi on all tires which is what is recommended via the door sill information on tire pressure.
Just wanted to bump my quote from a while back and see if any of you guys who recently bought these have any input.
I keep putting my tire purchase off every week because I'm having trouble deciding. It's pretty much between these or Hankook Dynapro AT-M (which I've owned two sets of already and they've been great tires).

I've run down to 18 PSI and they performed well. P rated.
Acceleration is the same. Loss of 1-2mpg with normal driving. These things are a lot heavier than stock tires.

Do you have a picture of your entire setup? It sounds exactly what I'm going for, wheels included.
Do you mean pictures of the suspension setup? or picture of the whole car?
