New FN Overlander Wheels

Specs in 1st post updated

1st post updated w/more accurate info from Dustin.

Thanks to all who have posted pics!

Dustin is a great guy to do business with.

I called about a week ago. and he answered every question I had, and some I hadn't even thought of. I think he would have "talked wheels" all day! I'm sure he is a very busy man, but it says something to me when the owner takes such pains to explain to a prospective customer..

I just wish I could finally decide on which FN wheel I want, but at this point in time, I'm leaning toward Six Shooter as a lighter alternative with flow formed construction .

Yes! Very true. He's certainly passionate about what he does.

Weightwise the Countersteer is about the same as the Six Shooter, but much more aggressive stance.

Can you confirm that just the Six Shooter is flow-formed? Or are the other FN wheels as well?

If I recall correctly, the Konigs are flow formed, the Six Shooters, and Countersteers. I was also interested the the f(x) Pros, which are conventionally cast, and come from a completely different factory, which is not a bad thing, but all consumer goods must be made to a price .. Some higher, some lower..

The whole industry is surprisingly interesting ..

It would be nice if Dustin could enter the thread and clear everything up..

**Edited** I texted Dustin he confirmed - ONLY the FN Six Shooters in 6 bolt patten are flow formed (Also, the FN Five Star in 5 bolt pattern - to fit Tundra, LandCruiser, Sequoia - is flow formed also). End Edit***

That does sound right though that they're from different factories.

FWIW, all the wheels are "FN". I don't think Dustin technically sells "Konig" wheels any longer. . . meaning they're no longer working in collaboration.

No, not yet. He gets so many texts / voicemails that he can sometimes miss a text here or there.

He texted me Wednesday evening. I just texted him about 25 minutes ago, so it might be a while before I hear back.

Calling him is your best bet. He wouldn't mind a "nudge" if you hadn't heard back from him.

Personally, it was worth the slight inconvenience for what you get out of the deal if you do end up buying a set of FN wheels. I get so many compliments on mine!

Yea, I figured he would be busy. I'll bug him later. Thx man.

Not sure if he did. But I was in touch with him a few weeks ago. I say just give him a call. He won't mind.

Will do. Love the simulated beadlock look! I think it will pull my SR5 together quite nicely.

Backtracking through the thread now to see if anyone had any further tips and tricks for the Overlander wheel. But when I was on the phone with Dustin in late October, he was the man and sure knew his $hit!

That wheel will be worth the wait! I know my head turns every time I see them!

Awesome, I should have just bought the wheel when I had him on the phone. They are new to FN and I think they have taken off in the last couple months. What did you end up with?

Got them installed the same day!

I was able to get ahold of Dustin today and have the wheels ordered. So excited that I don't think I'll be able to sleep : )
