Dustin is a great guy to do business with.
I called about a week ago. and he answered every question I had, and some I hadn't even thought of. I think he would have "talked wheels" all day! I'm sure he is a very busy man, but it says something to me when the owner takes such pains to explain to a prospective customer..
I just wish I could finally decide on which FN wheel I want, but at this point in time, I'm leaning toward Six Shooter as a lighter alternative with flow formed construction .
If I recall correctly, the Konigs are flow formed, the Six Shooters, and Countersteers. I was also interested the the f(x) Pros, which are conventionally cast, and come from a completely different factory, which is not a bad thing, but all consumer goods must be made to a price .. Some higher, some lower..
The whole industry is surprisingly interesting ..
It would be nice if Dustin could enter the thread and clear everything up..
Churchill were you able to get ahold of Dustin today? Spoke with him last week. He told me to get ahold of him today to set up an appointment for tomorrow.
No, not yet. He gets so many texts / voicemails that he can sometimes miss a text here or there.
He texted me Wednesday evening. I just texted him about 25 minutes ago, so it might be a while before I hear back.
Calling him is your best bet. He wouldn't mind a "nudge" if you hadn't heard back from him.
Personally, it was worth the slight inconvenience for what you get out of the deal if you do end up buying a set of FN wheels. I get so many compliments on mine!
Yea, I figured he would be busy. I'll bug him later. Thx man.
stphnman20, did you ever get ahold of Dustin?
stphnman20, did you ever get ahold of Dustin?
I did! Was able to meet up with him the next day.
Not sure if he did. But I was in touch with him a few weeks ago. I say just give him a call. He won't mind.
Will do. Love the simulated beadlock look! I think it will pull my SR5 together quite nicely.
Backtracking through the thread now to see if anyone had any further tips and tricks for the Overlander wheel. But when I was on the phone with Dustin in late October, he was the man and sure knew his $hit!
Awesome, I should have just bought the wheel when I had him on the phone. They are new to FN and I think they have taken off in the last couple months. What did you end up with?
I'm super glad to hear that. It was love at first site and no matter where else I look, I always come back. That wheel will be worth the wait! I know my head turns every time I see them!
Oh, to be in SoCal!!Got them installed the same day!
