I would be more accpetive to the new format if we got rid of the 5th gen photo, and moved the 4rotm down a little bit, because i click 3rd gen whilst the page is loading, and the photos quick pop up and all the sudden when i mean to go to the 3rd gen page, i am looking at the 4rotm.

The current way with the avatar and user details on the side is better, less breakage between posts, less vertical scrolling and also makes the post text less wide. Some times, a couple sentences are only one line. (I'm using 1920x1200 resolution and have my browser in full screen.

the Avatar and the location field and all your info used to be over the post.. making pages super long.
now, they are on the side, so you can scroll down a page way quicker,
the text is closer together so you can follow a thread a little easier.

Being an Admin of a few sites myself I know how much time, effort and headaches it takes to make changes to a Forum/website, I wouldn't want to incur that upon anyone who isn't getting payed to do it.
Also, I like the new layout better anyways
