New from Alabama with Introduction!

Hey Guys!

I am from South Alabama and just joined up.

My wife and I are expecting our first child in 2.5 weeks (June 23rd) and that has got me to contemplating a second SUV or 4 door truck. We currently have a 2013 Ford Edge Limited AWD which I can't speak highly enough about that is my wife's DD and our vacation vehicle. I have a 2wd single cab Chevy Silverado 2004 model and a 2005 Grand Am SE (my DD). I am replacing the Grand Am with a Toyota Corolla S in 2016 as the Grand Am has nearly 300k miles on it.

I intend on keeping my truck to haul stuff and pull trailers with, but I am in need of a second SUV or a 4 door truck to haul the family in when we go to the hunting land, camping, or head off the beaten path on vacation. My current plan is to find a 4 Runner, Tacoma Double Cab, or a Jeep Unlimited with around or slightly less than 120k miles on it that is 4 wheel drive and decently equipped.

I will start a new post with some questions on the 4Runners in the General Forum shortly, but for several reasons I am leaning towards a late Gen 3 or a Gen 4 4Runner with a V6 and a 5 Speed Manual transmission.

Well that was a long intro, but I hope to hang around here for quite some time!

Of course, here we are partial to the toyotas, especailly if you plan to look at ones with ~120K miles. As i've been known to say, a well maintained toyota is always the way to go IMHO.

Yeah as far as the Jeep goes it would have to be a steal. Been down the Jeep road with a Sahara on 35 Procomp Extremes.

I really need a capable family friendly mid size 4x4.
