New from Bay area, Cali. Couple ?'s

Whats up guys just purchased an 04 4runner SR5, and loving it. I'm from the bay area, originally a jeep owner but recently been getting into toyotas. I like to do alot of camping/exploring mostly in the sierras and up north towards redding. I purchased my 4runner for the reliability and offroad performance.


As of right now the truck is stock, would really like to get some clearance to go a little bigger with some nice AT's or MT's, can anyone offer some advice on a nice lift, I would like to get somewhere between 1-2". Looking for affordable but good quality.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated

Funny... I started reading this and had to check to see if I was the original author... I'm in almost the exact same situation. I do a lot of camping up in the el dorado forest and have a jeep all built up. But I just got my 2006 4runner and have been spending countless hours on this forum to figure out pretty much the same thing as you.
I ended up ordering an OME 3inch lift with Light Racing UCAs and will be throwing on bfg at ko 275/70r17 on my stock sr5 wheels with spidertrax 1.25in spacers.
Unfortunately I haven't had time to install it, so I can't quite tell you that this setup is perfect, but I hope it helps a little.
There's a sticky about suspension FAQs on the 4th gen board that goes over a lot.
