Whats up everyone! after searching for a 4th gen for about 2 years, finally picked one up last week! its a 2008 sport edition with 108,000 miles, bought it for 13K inside and out of the truck is in pretty good shape and frame looks great for being from the northeast!

Drove it for about 3 days till the CEL and Trac light came on, and VSC was blinking. truck was having a rough idle and then wouldnt start back up...had to have it towed back to the dealer, and they told me it was from a loose gas cap, and reset all the codes..i hope that was the only issue.

Looking forward to owning my first Toyota and being a member here at this forum! I was worried about buying such a high mileage vehicle...after reading about some of the head gasket issues some have had on this forum...hopefully that wont be the case.

Welcome and congrats...Back in November a few days after I bought my 2006 SR5, I had the same thing happen (CEL,VSC, Trac light). Happened in my driveway so I got my code reader and it came up with a bunch of evap errors, so I knew it was the gas cap as I've seen that happen before on other vehicles. My gas cap would click over but was very easy for it to loosen back up, so we bought a new gas cap and it's been good since.

thanks everyone!, after getting the car back from dealer for the CEL VSC and trac lights being on, I bought a new oem gas cap and it seems to be clicking in much tighter than the old one...but now all the lights are back on in the dash and the code im getting is P0441..the purge flow valve is incorrect? going to have to bring it back to the dealer before the 30 day warranty is up...I wonder if that is whats creating my shaky idle..

yeah could be the vsv.
if you decide to get one on your own, assuming the truck is a V6, the P/N from toyota is 90910-AC001

yea hopefully, going to pick it up tomorrow.. they said they replaced the vent valve and the purge valve, and gas cap,, even though i already did that.
