Hey all, I'm about to purchase a 4th gen 4runner. I'm in the process of selling my current car - 2005 WRX. I've owned it for about a year and want to come back to the Toyota family. I owned a 2005 Tacoma for the last 4 years before this. Can't wait to get the new car and start modding. :driving:

Welcome to the forum, from another Northern Californian! What area are you located at, just curious. Look forward to pics of the new rig!

You'll find that there are quite a few of us in Nor Cal. I'm in Santa Rosa myself but travel to Alameda for work.

I hope you find what you are looking for here. We've got a great bunch of people that will go out of their way to help you. If they can't, then they can at least point you in the right direction.

oh I love Petaluma! We always drive through there on our way to Bodega Bay. We're not far,just over in Vacaville. I actually went looking for a newer 4Runner over there a few months ago at the toyota dealership, but it was in too rough a shape.

funny, I'm also from Vacaville but i work in Benicia and all over the bay area.
 
Welcome, welcome!! Are you acquiring a V6 or V8? I've got a 3rd gen v6 and after towing my boat all summer, long for a V8..... my only option really is to SC it.... future mod, if I can find a unit. The other option is to parody 'Singtoe' who late last year slipped a 4.7L V8, from a Sequioa, under the hood of his 3rd gen... Wow... dedication!
 
That's awesome there are so many people around the area. I live out by the coast guard base in the outskirts of Petaluma. I was looking at the v6. The only thing i need to tow is my sea doo on a trailer but my Tacoma handled it fine and I believe it has the same engine as the v6 4th gen 4runner.

Awesome, im out that way about once a month in the summer! Love it out there.

Oh ya, a V6 would tow a sea doo no problem. We towed my husbands 3500lb Jetta across 3 states without an issue, with a trailer!

Awesome! If you've got T4R stickers, I keep a look out for ya on the road. I've got them on mine, but they're kinda hard to see, Momo is working on some for me that will be very easy to spot, lol.
 
Welcome! You're making me homesick. From Napa, worked in Petaluma and lived in Rohnert Park & Santa Rosa. Loved Sonoma too. Enjoy.
 
I'm currently working down in Alameda. hoping to transfer to the Training Center in Petaluma (or Two Rock as they proudly call it) this coming spring.
 
Good stuff!

My car passed smog this morning, buyer is coming Friday to pick it up and I should be in a 4runner by the end of next week as long as there are no hiccups. I'm already looking at suspension and tires for it. :D
