Well hmmm.... first post. Never been much for modifying vehicles in the past but my love for backpacking, guns, and the great outdoors in general kept trying to convince me that I would really enjoy a 4x4. I find this kind of backwards as I am an auto technician for a living and have been for a long time. I am an ASE certified Master Technician L1 and although I've always loved working on vehicles from the troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair side I've just never been one to spend my weekends playing with cars.
Recently my wife and I purchased a home out of town and several times found ourselves wishing we had a better vehicle for poor weather/winter driving conditions. Of course.... enter the 3rd gen 4runner.
I found one that was going to auction and needed a tad bit of work (just knock sensor wiring sub-harness) and bought it for far to little. It has 220k with one previous owner and all records. Totally Colorado kept and garaged with not a spot of rust. Left entirely stock except the hitch.
I was thrilled, it drives great and I have always had a soft spot for these things. The wife and I looked up some local trails to go driving and hiking on and I instantly fell in love with the world of off road. I've been glued to many of your build threads and have become enthused about building this into a sort of expedition vehicle over the next few years. Taking work home I guess...
Anyway sorry if you read my whole auto-biography of sorts but here is my petty contribution. Just wanted to be able to document my progress and meet some like minded people.

It's a 2000 SR5 5-speed with E-locker.
So far I have already placed an order for Shrockworks sliders and plan to lift it on OME 881/890s with 265/75R16 Goodyear Duratracs and we shall see from there. This forum aided greatly on my aftermarket choices as I'm a bit out of my element with that sort of thing so thank you! If you ever need factory part numbers, factory wiring diagrams, or just questions about troubles you may be having feel free to contact me I'd love to contribute.
