Hey guys, I finally got my video finished! I did this on Saturday when it was 115 degrees outside and was trying to work fast.

I absolutely love this mod and would highly recommend it to anybody of all makes and models. My video is mostly time lapsed and shows the stock #'s for each bulb and shows the ones I used.
Here is what I did and times they appear in the video :

intro to outcome and bulbs used
License plate lights 0:44
Cargo hatch 1:21
Reverse lights 2:31
High Beam 3:00
Courtesy Lights (doors) 3:39

Great video! Do the LED high beams still function as your DRLs? Do you happen to have any images of that?

Thanks very much! The leds do function as drl's flawlessly. My hids before would flicker like crazy. I will try to get a photo on here when i get home
 
hey Jasonaaron480 great video ...very professional looking.
I am installing my high beams LED tonight (waiting to get dark)

my highs are from XenonDepot.com , I already have their low beam H11 and they are very good....!

my goal is to have no incandescent bulb left in the vehicle , I have the fogs left, the front sidemarkers and the 4 turn signals, hopefully in the next 10 days ill have everything done in the lighting department! so I can concentrate on other things....

I still have to install my Blackoak LED light bar behind the grille , I fabricated 2
brackets for it to be bolted on the aluminum cross member .

by the way I am wondering if the backlighting for the instruments and switches is LED based.?
I will be taking pics tonight of the LED high beams on one side and the OEM bulb on the other side for comparison .

here is a couple snaps I took earlier of the DRL's they are extremely bright haha.
The top two are just the DRL's and the bottom is the High Beam.

There is a very slight vibration in the light, but its barely noticeable. I had to really look at it to find a flaw. But it doesn't bother me whatsoever, just thought i'd mention so others would be aware.

In the video you indicate the vanity lights use a #168 but the super bright led website shows it uses a #175. Can you confirm which is appropriate for the vanity lights?

Ah I see. The bulb is #175 however uses the same exact led bulb as a #168. Just the same as the stock bulb #921 uses the same as well. So you could actually put the same bulb I used as reverse lights in the vanity, courtesy, and maps. They are all LED #194 wedge base bulbs and can be used universally with 168, 175, 921, and more.

I will annotate in the video though just to keep the info correct.

The one thing I noticed about the puddle lights is that the LED needed to be a flat base unlike the bulbs i used as the maps, courtesy and license plate. Not sure why but I thought that was strange.

Can anybody confirm If they experienced that?
 
I also noticed your video on the LED low beam installation. The 4 Runner in the video had HID already in it. The review by the guys at Xenon Depot posted on this forum indicated the HID had a little more scatter but better distance as well as the HID being brighter when compared to the LED. Can you give me your opinion if you have experienced both the HID and LED in the low beam?

I personally think that the LED kit I used was indeed better than the HID kit that I had.
Both kits were from HID extra.
the HID kit was about half the price of the led coming in at $60 vs the LED with a cost of $120. But they have good specials near holidays and if you use "ronin" u get 15% off.

Im not sure what the outcome would be if you were to compare sets of LED to HID that were equivalent to each other in terms of quality, construction, and price.

But I can tell you these are so much better than the HID kit I had before, that is without a doubt. These are so much brighter and the light pattern is much more even and pure.

One of my RAZIR led fog lights failed while i was filming this video at the end during the walk-around. thats why I didnt show it. But HID extra has great service and has already taken steps to get it replaced.

What color bulbs did you use? I prefer a white light to a blue tinted light. Is there much difference between the 6K "Cool white" bulbs and the 5K "Natural white" bulbs?

when it comes to the small LED's I personally dont notice a difference. some of the ones I got say cool white and some say just white but they all look like a perfect match inside the truck.

When it comes to HID's then yes there is a noticeable difference.
For my low beams i was actually going to go with 5000k but the LED razir kit I got only comes in 6k. I'm fine with it because it isnt as blue as the 6k hid were.

Whats cool about the Superbright led's site is that they have a 1yr warranty, and I had these bulbs in my last 4runner for about 8 months. two failed, but I'm sending them back to be replaced. I noticed in the video my license plate led is a bit discolored compared to the other, so they will replace it.
