Hey all,
I was looking for a newer thread for Gen5s on factory bolt replacement. I spend most my summers in and around salt water and have naturally become accustomed to zinc-coated everything to prevent oxidation/salt breakdown.
Was wondering if anyone has replaced their skid-plate, shock mount bolts with yellow-coated or just coated stainless bolts? I read in another thread that the Gen4s had M8x1.25.20mm skid plate bolts, was wondering if they're still the same size for Gen5?
Or, has anyone improved the set-up, drilled them out, and found a better replacement? Just went to do first oil change on newly purchased SR5 and found Toyota-tech nicely spun top right off one of two front skid plate bolts...so have a nice new project ahead of me.
