Greetings from south Florida! Decided to join a 4runner forum so here I am! I have a 2012 white 4runner and I love it. Everyone says it's too big for me but they don't understand the beauty of 4runners lol I'm thinking about getting black wheels so any suggestions would be great!

I agree with [MENTION=106270]RedSled[/MENTION]. I think Gun Metal would look good on it, but, again, like he said, your Runner.

So living in South Florida with a truck has its ups and downs. Parking can be quite a hassle since everyone here drives cars. And I will admit, I'm not the best parker lol but I've learned to park with my rear first which is the easiest way for me.

How much would it cost for the wheels to get dipped? Again, I am completely new to this and I would love advice. I just wanna make sure I don't get screwed if I go to shop and I don't want to get taken advantage of.

Also, I live on the beach. We park our cars outside in a garage but it still gets sprayed with saltwater and wind. I am worried about my 4runner getting rusted. I think it may have started just a little (eeek!!) I generally wash my car by myself every month. Takes me about 2 hours since I am so small and the car is so big but I love washing it. Any recommendations to help it not rust? Is there like a wax to help prevent this? Or special coating?
 
It costs about $25 to dip the wheels. U can buy a kit from their site or at Home Depot or Lowes. It's easy to do. YouTube has a bunch of how-to vids.

As for the rust, being from California, I don't know what rust is! LL I'm sure another member knows how to deal with it. GL. :hatsoff:

There's a great build thread on here where the owner plasti-dipped his entire truck. Excellent way to prevent your vehicle from rusting, preserving the original paint, as well as protecting from scratches. Plasti-dip website states their product protects from things such as rust, and what not. It's a tedious task, but for the cost and the fact that you can peel it off and redo it whenever you want, you may want to consider doing this. It's a good alternative to vinyl wrapping too as that can be pricey.

Enjoy South Florida. I miss it. I went to Cooper City HS. After travelling the world and stuff you really appreciate how nice S. Fla is compared to other places!

Nice to see another T4R member from Fort Lauderdale. If you see a blizzard pearl LE with a T4R.org decal on the rear window around town, that's me!!!

I'm not sure how much dipping your wheels would cost but you could easily do it yourself. I haven't dipped my wheels yet but did do my front and rear chrome parts. I'd follow this guide from youtube on dipping your wheels. The only (and big) issue is the wind and sand that gets blown around

Dipyourcar is actually located in Coral Springs. They have everything you'd need and then some. Of course you could also head to Home Depot and pick up some plastidip for smaller projects like badges and wheels.

Hello fellow Floridian! lol I also have a blizzard white pearl! I have a surfing license plate and a Miami heat tail hitch.

I'm thinking about the plastidip to see how I like it. I'm not 100% in my ability to do it but everyone says it's easy. I might have to talk to some of my friends who are into cars. That's great that Dipyourcar is in Coral Springs. I'll have to visit them soon.
