Hello, T4R. I'm Scotchy. I live in the lovely Texas Hill Country. Just wanted to say hello and thank you for all the helpful information I've been reading over the past couple of days. I have enjoyed seeing all the pix and hearing all the rattle about everyone's 4Runners, sick ones and all.

I am the happy owner of two Limited 4Runners: a '97 that I've had for 4 years and an '04 that I purchased last month (That already has issues :-( ). I've already found posts that are helpful for my situation. Thanks again for everyone's info and time they spend sharing it.

Good to see another Texan joining the group i just joined myself not to long ago and have gotten quite a bit of info from the site. Sorry to hear about the issues on the 04 but hopefully you can find the solution on here or meet with someone close to ya to help if you need it.

Welcome. I know those feels.

My one week old '05 has:
floppy drivers visor - $87 fixed
old key that would pull out in ACC - $20 fixed
old remotes - $30 fixed
no homelink - $40 ordered
blown shocks - 5100s soon
weak yellow interior lighting - LEDs soon

The first day I owned it the keyless lock stopped working and the next morning the battery was dead as I was headed to work. That all stemmed from a worn out key pulling out in ACC instead of Off. The forum helped guide me to replacing the key instead of the lock cylinder, and saved me quite a bit of moolah on that and programming.

Hopefully your issues are minor as well.
