hey guys, and gals! i am the new owner of an 84 4runner. i am no stranger to yotas, i have had 2 corrolas (75 and 78), a 78 celica st, and a 79 3/4 ton hilux. this is my FIRST yota newer than 79. i traded a bone stock 95 nissan pathfinder for it. from wha ti know here are the specs.....


84 4runner SR5
22R with a Weber carb and a 1/2 done emissions hack
5spd
welded rear but open front with stock hubs
bobbed rear with welded up tailgate and modded top (not my idea)
36 inch (i think. havent measured as of yet) Buckshot Mudder radials
factory altimeter and inclinometers
flipped roll bar (soon to be flipped again so my kid stops hitting his head)
and an unknown lift (if any at all. but this trucks floor boards sit at waist level to me and i am 5'5" tall. yes i am short!)

thanks guys! so far its been a blast. gotten alot of compliments on it. I still have to take it wheeling but that's soon enough.
 
well i spent the day working on this thing.

removed the aftermarket cruise control. it wasn't hooked to the carb anyway.
wired in my old Kenwood tape deck. tape adapter for the Ipod.
fixed the heater control light
re-routed the drivers door speaker wire
wired open the choke on teh 32/36
checked the timing (dead on at 5* BTDC)
and lubed the chassis.


to do!
still ahve to rewire teh speakers
make a better top. hard or soft it doesn't matter to me
fix or replace the passenger front seat
flip the roll bar
reinforce the floor in back and the tailgate
wire in a 4th speaker (water proof for the rear)
make or buy a new front bumper
replace the lift with a proper one (this will do for now)
reseal front diff
replace trans mount
replace front fenders (want fiberglass ones but cant afford it right now)
reseal tcase
extended vent lines for diffs, transfer case and trans?
and install 2 element corner lights. turns and markers.
 
well i took it out last week so i could see how well it would do off road. well i didn't do to much but i found out i cant flex it to much. i need a longer front drive line. but otherwise it seems like it might work out ok off road.

If he was on a work PC it could be blocked, pic hosting sites, you-tube, etc are blocked where I work.
