Very Nice build you have planned! you're so lucky to have scenery like that to play in! and in a diesel runner no less! pretty jealous on several levels. Wish more diesel options were available here in the states!:thumb: I don't want to hijack your thread but i'm sure I'm not the only one who's curious about what kind of MPG's you get with that rig? look forward to seeing your progress. Around 25/26 MPG normal driving, and around 20 MPG when towing a trailer and car.

The build is going to be broken into stages. At the moment, I'm thinking rims, tires, brakes, sliders, rescue gear and snorkel as stage one. The order after that is up in the air still, but I'm thinking front and rear bumper, diff drop, rear locker and body lift will follow, then suspension (given the OME kit is working fine at the moment). And well, I suppose the sky is the limit after that.

and it gave you the opportunity to see what a relatively stock Hilux can do before your intended modifications

I've been really impressed. Being an auto I do think low is not quite 'low enough' so I'm really not certain which way to go with the diff ratio. From a torque perspective the diesel just seems to get the job done.

No pics of the truck really today, but some of the ruts had us up on 3 wheels as we navigated across. We then went on a 3 hour hike when the road ended. Excellent day!
