Hey everyone,
I've been a lurker for some time an decided to create an accont. My name is Daniel and I'm from Virginia. I'm looking to get out of the import tuner scene now and I have always loved the 4Runner. Unfortunately, I don't have one right now but I'm currently looking for a 99/00, 4WD with the 4 cylinder and a 5-speed. Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone, posting, and of course actually getting a 4Runner, lol. :)

Anyone else in the 757 area of VA??

Welcome and glad to see we got another guys joining the 4runner scene!

99/00 is the best looking years of all time...I take it you want a 4cyl 5spd for mileage, but the 3.4L is SOOOO fun to drive :D

Good luck in your search and ask any and all questions! the people here are just awesome!

Welcome to the forum. What do you have now, since you are talking about the import tuner scene?

Thanks for the welcome so far, guys. Right now I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si.

hey evan, im sure he just wants better mileage...but heres a suggestion dan...test drive a 4cyl, then test drive a 6cyl...then tell us which one you want :D

i had my heart set on a 4cyl when i was in the market, but then i drove both...and i HAD to buy the 6...and the mileage isnt THAT much better just a few mpg here and there...

Welcome to the group. Why would you want the 4cyl instead of the 6?

Evan

Well I'm really looking at the 4 cylinder for gas mileage. I know that while the 4Runner's gas mileage is not spectacular, the 4 will be a little better than the 6. And later down the road, I can make the 4 just as fun as a 6 in terms of power. :D

Lol...You read my mind. I'll have to do that when I'm out looking for them. Well see when it comes....maybe I will change my mind. ;):

Thats exactly how I felt. I never really NEEDED a 6, but I wanted it lol. As long as you are happy with your rig man, thats all that really matters. You will see some people like big rims, others big tires. Each 4Runner is unique.

are you gonna keep the civic? those are so fun to drive!

Unfortunately due to financial reasons I wouldn't be able to keep both cars. They are fun to drive! I always look like this---> :biggrin2:

Sweet! Any pics? Why do you want a 4Cyl over the V6?

BTLFED- If I find any thread worthy pictures on my computer, then I'll post them up. Nothing too special though, just lowered with a few cosmetic enhancements.

That's cool. I have a CRX so I know how it is. I've owned mine for 12 years. :biggrin2:

Yep, especially with a bottle in the back. BTLFED is the tag on it. :biggrin2:

Sorry to bring back my fairly old thread, but I took one step closer to getting a 4Runner. I found a 2000 4CYL 5-Speed 4WD in white. :awais: And some pictures to make the thread worth-while. :bigok:

EDIT: DID NOT GET IT. TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. :(

Looks like a real nice rig!

I would've been really interested in that one too, I never know how long my 1997 will hold out.

Might I ask how much you ended up paying for it?

Unfortunately, I didn't end up getting it. I believe they wanted $7,500 for it though.

I have a 96 4cyl auto and I have to tell you: runs great and I beat up all younger SUVs/pickup trucks at work, with 22 mpg on highway/city driving...
Don't hesitate: take 4 ganger!
