Hi Pete,
I always thought the Xterra represented a lot of "bang for the buck", especially the new model. It's definetly not a crossover-type poseur.

Pete, welcome to the board. I test drove a 06' Xterra Off-Road last week before I bought my 4Runner. It had a lot of things to like about it. Handled well, had a rear locker, 32" tires, decent seats, and all for a good price. But, it seems that Nissan is having alot of quality control issues right now and I really didnt want to give Nissan another try after having a horrible experience with my 05' Titan (worst vehicle I ever owned). And, after test driving the 06' V8 4Runner, there was no comparison. Of course, the 4Runner was more expensive, but I felt it was worth it. To each his/her own

I was also looking at the XTerra for its off road capabilities. You do get a lot of bang for your buck. In the end I went with a 4runner because of its reliability and overall fit and finish. I had a 97 T4R before trading up to an 05.
Have you encountered any problems with yours?
I'm still keeping an eye on them because my GF really likes the looks of the XTerra and is looking to trade her car in for an 06 sometime early next year.

Solice hola bro. Thank you for the warm welcome yeah I love it and as I told my buddy solice if it wasnt an xterra it was a 4runner. I have a '01 green se . I traded my car in on it couldnt pass the deal up. Loved xterra's since they came out and well got something older to see if I would truly enjoy having an SUV. And well Im never turning back . The only thing about the '05+ xterra's is they changed the approach angle and they sit alittle lower. But would own one. As for the titan yeah they had a rough start. Hatte to say it seems most nissan's have a rough first year vehicles. Anywho, I talk alot sorry. Thanks again for the welcome all.
