Picked up my new '07 SR5 2WD V8 from Toyota of Ft Worth (great salesman-Scott Bolin) on Saturday. Drove it home to Maryland over the weekend. 11 hours Sat, 10 on Sun, and I wasn't tired or sore at all when I got home. I'm happy. The computer says I got 21.1 MPG, I have to fill it and see what the actual was.

I couldn't get a 2WD V8 in Md, (the regional distributor doesn't bring them in that way) so I hit the internet, cashed in some frequent flyer miles and went and got one.

I won the luck of the draw, it had Michelin CT tires. It also came with the double deck cargo thingy. I'm not sure what that's good for, it's prolly coming out.

I'm also not sure if I want the running boards. My wife and I are both tall enough that we step right in.

Congrats on your new ride. I'd keep running boards though. It keeps front tire splatter from the side of your rig, unless you got those tube boards.

Actual mileage was 20.4

I took the running boards off today, but didn't like the body lift look, so I put them back on.

I don't go off road, we don't get much snow where I live, $2,000 cheaper, less weight, better gas mileage. 2WD w/ limited slip rear end pulls my boat up the ramp fine, that's all I need.

Congrats on the new ride. I pulled 24mpg on the freeway from LA to SD fully stock 03 2wd V8. You will love that truck.

what exactly do you mean when you say the "actual mileage" after you fill it up??? The mileage on my head unit reads 19.2 -- is the "actual mileage" displayed somewhere else???

The mileage displayed beneath the radio is usually optimistic, mine along with most members is about 10% higher than actual.

By "actual mileage", divide the number of miles driven (setting the tripmeter to zero after fill-up and recording the number of miles at next fill-up) over the number of gallons refueled.
