Hey I'm new to the site and to 4runners. I picked mine up in october for a winter beater. it's a 92 sr5 v6 5 spd. and it's probably the worst 2000$ i've ever spent haha. I love 4runners but mine is a pos. the rear window is fubar and the rear defrost doesnt work. the a/c doesnt work. the frame is solid but the rear quarter panels and doors are rusting out. when i bought it it needed 600$ in steering components and an alternator.
the major problems right now are the front wheel bearings. the vibration when driving in 4wd and the head gaskets are gone. it spews oil around the head gaskets. and theres more coolant in my oil than there is oil haha.
and the fact that it struggles to do 110km/h is rather annoying.
but hopefully i can get those things worked out before they get any worse.
I can't find anything about the head gasket recall for Canadian 4runners. maybe it was only for US 4runners. the dealer I've been going to is saying there is no recall so i'll probably have to do this myself.
besides all that its been an alright truck considerring it has 304,000km on it. it gets me where i need to go even when it seams like the engine is about to seize haha but i cant wait for spring so i can start driving my car again.
and once i finish school I plan on lighting this thing on fire or jumping it into a pond so some how killing it and then buying a 4th gen. despite my feelings about my truck i still love toyota and most of all 4runners.

i know i know its just a civic and its nothing special. its just soemthing cheap, reliable and fun to drive
